23XI statement on not signing Charter agreement

I've pondered this happening. MJ can attract all the needed investment (OPM) if he decided to make a run for NASCAR. NASCAR and Jordan brand would make a helluva combination.

With all the vitriol of this lawsuit, and the nature of the France family, probably not an option. BUT…your point is a good one. What IF one solution to settle this was some level of ownership/merging of those two groups? Jordan does have strong money connections and a large $ pot of his own. Maybe a revision of the charter terms for all and some minority ownership stake for Jordan, plus other developmental involvement?

Doubtful but it’s an intriguing idea.

I keep hearing about how much money Jordan is willing to toss around to take over NASCAR. If that was his goal, he could have had the naming rights to the Cup series for about what the legal bills are going to run, with all rights and privileges thereof and none of the management headaches.

Anybody seen this.
I thought it was interesting timing and name of series. National Stock Car Series. Shot across the bow?

It's a carbon copy of the CARS Tour, and is going to compete more with them and the weekly tracks.

Of course, the weekly tracks made their beds by continuing to prioritize tire sales over making things affordable to grow car counts.

CARS has a much longer schedule, although this will only be the IHRA series' first year.
Not knowing what the Car will be, but if it's similar to one of the other Late model series cars, and they probably are, I would bet many drivers will race both series. Sounds like there is good driver money involved for such a small schedule.

Text book example on what Nascar is trying to avoid...Go build your own car and find your own tracks to race it on.

I haven't seen anything about IHRA streaming on Flo. They stream through SpeedSport1, whatever that is. So yeah, they're on the third? Fifth? biggest racing streaming service. Big NASCAR competition that proves NASCAR isn't interested in hurting their competition. Especially since we already know from the released materials how they felt about the mere possibility of CARS running North Wilkesboro with Dale Jr.

These are just late models. They aren't even supers. Great for those guys because pavement late models have been left behind in paydays compared to dirt. Speaking of both millionaires who spent insane money and wound up being fraudsters and dirt late models....

Apparently bring Memphis back from the dead looking at their schedule.

That’s good. Here’s this one, and the Cars Tour. Where’s the monopoly again?

No mention of any TV deal, but I’d bet these would get televised by Flo Racing.
Look at the tracks they are going to. None of them big, heck I been to Cordele Speedway before, they don't even have a wall around most of the track. The monopoly is keeping them off any of the big tracks.

One of the many problems this type of racing has. Pro Late Models. How does that differ from Super Late Models, Late Models, late model sportsman etc, on and on. They need to get their stuff together, wheelbase, engines etc, wheels and tires instead of trying to be "unique". IHRA says they want affordable racing but unless they have a car that can race universally on other tracks and series with the limited schedule they have I don't see many teams jumping on the band wagon.

The timing of the IHRA announcement looks like a coincidence.

They have a schedule, rules, procedures, membership information, prices and everything. This has been months in the planning.
I don’t buy it to be a coincidence (everything happens for a reason), we just haven't found out why now and who is really behind it. Just a gut feeling I have.

Like ticket prices? I can't find this information. Can you provide it for me please.

Yep. New ownership over IHRA has been since March. The new owner Darryl Cuttell has been buying drag racing tracks and now it looks like he is also expanding into Late Models. I can't see anywhere he is buying those kind of tracks though. They have a rulebook out on PDF file.

Surely they're buying Memphis though. I mean, place is for sale and in bad shape.

All I could find was that he had something like a package deal on 7 drag tracks with details to be worked out. He has the deal done on about half of them so far.

Does that mean I have to renew my AOL Subscription?
