500 RACE thread

When did Hamlin turn into a villain? Until recently, I haven't payed as much attention to the series so I'm not sure what happened.

When he dumped Chase at Martinsville

*sorry, I posted before reading several state the obvious before me.

Yes , onto Atlanta.

Thinking back on everything that I saw and heard today. The most remembered will be from 3 time cup champion Mr. Darrell Waltrip. " the faster the cars go the harder they are to drive"

So bring on "tapered spacer" Atlanta.

so to hell with other interviews from the guys racing, Someone Might be tuning into stick and ball coverage so back to them. Thanks for staying with us though all the red flags, but back to what our network does for a living

Pretty straight forward -- Toyota worked as a team; Ford drivers not so much when it mattered. Good on Jones for taking care of business to get a podium finish. McDowell is a conflicted lowlife.

When Chevy HMS Company-Man (Jeff Gordon) calls you out for abandoning his Ford Mfr Team RIVAL -- that is quite a screw up,..

If only the Toyota's could find some speed and run with them there Fords

Bring on Atlanta....its plate racing...plus when they cheat for not using the 100% rule and letting each other pass at the restart are they really faster or manipulating the rules?

thats why I love when NBC Takes over cause they always have a post race show and also victory lap right after.

Might be because the race was one of the longest Daytona there is ya think?
Uh no, they have both FS1 and FS2 to put a post race on at some point after the race, and use to be where Victory Lane used to live , no matter how long the race went over the window, NBC aired some sort of a post race show, either on the mothership or on NBCS/N, or both.

Uh yeah, the race went 5 hours. Say what ya want, it screwed up all of the scheduling.

What a joke of a race. It was clear McDowell had a slow car that was just in the way. I also saw other slow cars causing issues. Not happy with a Hamlin win this sport needs to create stars again after the main ones retired. Hamlin win doesn’t help. The 2 guys that crashed the 48 how in the world was Cody ware and McLeod even approved for Daytona? What boneheads reminded me of something you see in the ARCA race

It may be the guy's only chance to win a cup race.
With 2 laps to go I could never fault the man for doing all he could to get himself to victory lane.

Except that's not what happened.

Anyway, I'm sure Ford Racing saw it the way rival Jeff Gordon saw it -- McDowell chose unwisely. He should be looking for another low-tier team on Monday -- doubtful any of the Toyota or Chevy teams wants an untalented lowlife who will double-down against their company on a big stage.

On other news, Logano should walk the other way. He's a bonafide Cup Champion.
