All things relating to Danica -- New season

Like I said above, she was 3rd on the final lap in the Daytona 500. That's not too far off from Cope's 2nd in 1990. She also led some laps in that race too.

If Danica had been one position higher and the leader went down, we could've EASILY had Daytona 500 winner Danica Patrick.

If you are referring to the 2013 Daytona 500 she finished eighth, eliminating the leader only gets her a P7.

She was 3rd when the white flag flew. She only finished 8th because she was in WAY over her head and was overwhelmed by the pack.

Let's assume that she crosses the line in 2nd and the leader goes down while she's back there. She inherits the lead and with the advantage of clean air may have been able to win it.

Pointless hypothetical, yes but it is one way that Danica could get a win.

If Danica does get a win I think it will be on an RP track, although she did improve quite a bit on the 1.5's last year. She could perhaps steal one there as well.

This story worries me and it is not something I had thought about. Lets hope hes cleared and this is not something we have to think about.
His comments about if something comes out that busch did something not as serious as is alleged but still wrong, what happens to SHR and Patrick? Will they fire Kurt if ANYTHING is found to be amiss? what about team relations? public relations?

you know what--you are right. I just saw the article and it concerned me. But I guess thats what the media tries to do huh...they try to worry and alarm it seems. Its useful to know whats out there but just stay away from bridges and cliffs I guess

Edit-and without speculation be it pointless or not there would not be a lot to talk about lols
 
I was in a Canadian Tire store yesterday (at the height of the madness...my mistake, I know) and seen one of these hanging by the parts counter. I thought @DanicaFreak would probably buy this. lol

Her sponsors aren't paying for her to win, they want "Their Name" Go Daddy mentioned at all times and I think it is working.

Not acceptable to me. Or her. In everything Ive watched and read she wants to win and would not be racing just to "be there". I hope to see a breakthru season

She gets a new team next year. Tony Stewart is the only one to come from IRL and be real successful.
AJ is trying but he shot himself in the good ride department.

Chase Elliott could pilot this car as a rookie to better than 28th. Danica is not a rookie. See something wrong? Danica is a no talent bumb.


Go daddy are idiots for supporting her. Put Chase in the 10 car please.

I really don't know what Danica needs to go fast, but there are more theories about that than any other driver. Yet, she doesn't go very fast, time and again. She didn't kick ass in Xfinity. She seems very happy rolling around in 20th or whatever, doesn't she? She got a boyfriend out of the deal, and a chunk of change. Let's be happy for her.

I am not happy with 20th. And neither is she based on what I have read and heard. Skys the limit. Boyfriend? you think she got into NASCAR to land a man...? disagree

Godaddy wants a woman in that car, plus they love Patrick.
 
I like Haley, but saying she has done more than Patrick is stretching things. She may in time be, but as right now, there is not a corporation the likes of Godaddy interested in her, unless I am missing something. Also if she was doing better than Patrick why is she not in cup?

Danica talks about a lot of stuff....much of which doesn't have a damn thing to do with going fast. I credit her for spinning her popularity into great wealth. She does not have to go fast to keep her ride. She knows that. She doesn't like 20th, but it isn't the career death sentence like it would be for most--she knows this, and in this sense, I am not sure she is as pressured as she should be. She consistently shows that she is focused on things other than racing.....a boyfriend is part of that. Playing the boyfriend up in the media is another distraction. It's okay though because she is a marketing monster. You have to respect that. Racing is a small part of her package. Again, I respect your loyalty to your driver....just my 2 cents.

Shes raced since she was a kid, much like a lot of the other drivers. She did not get the break into NASCAR until late. She does a lot of other things than racing but so do a lot of other drivers...all drivers it seems have foundations, etc. I do not know how much she "plays up" the boyfriend...she came to his defense when she thought he was wronged, but any SO would do that for the other, or at least you would hope they would. They just happen to both work in the same workplace. She has sponsor appearances like a lot of drivers...

She wants this...wants to win and will, IMHO.

Indeed, Danica has raced a ton, but has advanced her career for things other than results. This much, I think is clear. The things that other drivers do are opportunities that came from success on the track. The things Danica does comes from something other than results on the track. This might be just me, but the middle school girl crush crap in reference to Ricky drives me nuts, and is probably better suited for Saturday morning teenage television programming. She needs to wake up and realize that his career will soon be on the brink if he doesn't get better, and her references to which bus they will be sleeping in probably doesn't send the message of absolute commitment to his career that he might need. Ricky will be gone. Danica will remain. Does this matter to her? No. Ricky is another layer to her media persona--just like everything she does. This isn't wrong--to each his own--but also not indicative of a driver committed to results IMO. Honestly, I would love to hear an interview in which she discusses the kind of car she needs, her communication with her crew chief, and what she is looking for in her car. I really haven't heard any of that from her. If she was to ever win, I would really be happy for you. Honestly. However, I truly do not believe that she will. I really hope I am wrong.
 
Of course she has benefited from things off the track..maybe moreso than some drivers but maybe no more than JR does from talking about his dad.
I do wish she would stop talking about ricky so much...I think it grows out of having a really bad marriage and finding happiness with ricky..she wants to just let everyone know.
Danica talks about a family eventually with ricky and alothough I would like to see this post poned at the very least, it shows shes thinking about the future with him. The other stuff going back and forth I feel is just that a banter back and forth.

I just gave you the Apples/Apples comparison ... which is Danica's seven years in the minors. :idunno:

Haley won a Division II championship at a track where Division II is stronger than Division I (which is the exception around these parts). Pretty big deal -- big enough that Speed51 and PRN have also picked up on it.

Just curious, by "minors", do you mean IndyCar? Danica was in IndyCars for seven years, so just wondering.

Formula Ford, Skip Barber, Atlantic, and the like were never her strong suits either. She was routinely outperformed by her teammates who mainly compete in sports cars and touring cars now.
