Atlanta Folds of Honor QuickTrip 400

What's up next? Turtle vs no turtle at IMS?
With all the questions we have about racing the new car at a 'new' track (not to mention X and Trucks on the new surface), the paint color doesn't make the top 8,346,247.

Turtle Power! Stay off them and there's no problem. Have the track replace / remount them nightly, something they didn't do last year. At least they worth talking about; turtles affect the racing.

On DBC they were really concerned (Allgaier was on as guest) about cars getting massive runs but having nowhere to go bc track isn't wide enough. This is the first next gen race I've been very pessimistic about going in.

I've been checking out the radar and it looks like the rain will start in Hampton probably somewhere around 10am and with its current movement and speed I expect it to be pushing out around 2-2:30 so hopefully we can see some track drying and practice staying on schedule. I just hope they dont throw in the towel too early.

It wont be raining at 3. They threw in the towel. Load up everybody! Lets get outta here and hit the bar!

Obviously I'm not there but I looks like maybe 2 more hours of rain? I thought the new surface was supposed to drain better and don't they have lights?

The color really means nothing lmao. If you get confused about going out of bounds because of the color, idk what to tell you

I'm confused lol. So they created an out of bounds line on a 1.5? That's the first out of bounds line I can think of on a 1.5? Are they prepared to penalize someone for going below it? or is this just an encouragement to not cut the track on the repave? I guess test them and find out??

Same rules as Daytona and Talladega

It's a double line rule same as Daytona and Talladega same rule as those tracks color is irrelevant

Seems it would have been easier/smarter to have just used a double yellow line. Seems kinda boneheaded that they didn't.

Okay so you can dip below the line just not in qualifying, and not to advance position on someone in race.

Are they expecting Atlanta to race like a plate track and that's why the addition? I've got questions.

Your left side tires cannot go under the double yellow at anytime unless you are forced down. Nobody really knows how its gonna race but I expect to have side by side runs for several laps then the pack will separate itself. Fire away!

What double yellow? You mean the white/red/white.

NASCAR sure is quick to throw the towel on it. Whatever.

The blue/red/white line is probably an SMI decision but it’s another thing to lecture people on for some reason.

You think its lecturing when someone asks a question about it?

Why does everything need to be so complicated that they can’t just keep it a yellow line? Not everyone is a hardcore fan.
I'm sure they did it to suit the new digs. If they arent hard core fans Im sure the TV crew will let them know what it is and if they are hardcore fans they know what it is regardless of color. I think when they first started doing the OB line it was a single yellow line

Am I the only one glued to the tv watching this rerun of the 01 spring race? The racing, the production, everything is just so bad ass and nostalgic
