I tried CBS All Access this past fall when Dish Network was in contract negotiations with CBS over pricing. Conveniently, Dish Network dropped CBS locally from our channel lineup during the middle of the NFL season while the negotiations took place.While I appreciated CBS All Access for being a quick/cheap remedy for watching the Steelers games, I found little else that I watch off of CBS.

I thought I couldn't live without it but I was wrong. I seldom give it a thought any longer unless its mentioned on here. All of the races are available for free via MRN/PRN, be it over the air or online or an app on your phone, (maybe not your archaic device).
As far as the shows go, you'll soon find a source of frustration is a thing of the past.

Pandora could be your new, free, friend then. Tons of stuff on there that you'd find to be a welcomed switch. We are big into music. Pandora is streaming almost constantly around my house daily.
Anyway, I kept it because I liked NASCAR Radio and the music channels. But I tried cancelling it and even did cancel it. Two months later, accidentally turned it on and it was still activated. It was a nightmare to keep trying to cancel it. I think I ended up having to basically not pay it and have it cut off because they refused to cancel it.
Yeah, the last time I tried cancelling they dropped the price three times during the call. I truly called with the intention of cancelling, but they lowered the last offer to the point of where it was basically free so I kept it.I remember that experience myself. When I bought a new car, it came with Sirius XM free for a year, except it was only free for three months.
Thank goodness for streaming services like iHeartRadio and unlimited data. I just use those now.

I got my smart TV a few years ago and they included a small selection of online channels. I got a Roku box to expand my selections. I'd prefer a dumb TV, I just want a big monitor. I run the cable box and Roku box through my receiver. I prefer a component system so I can update just the functions/boxes as needed (and choose my component vendors). I don't like the idea of TVs manufacturers choosing who my providers are. There will probably be a new market for unlocked TVs.
I wouldn't think future tvs would be limited, just add on and choose.
I think as long as you have a HDMI port to spare, you can continue to use whomever you want as your provider. I purchased a Roku tv for my son a little over a year ago. We've had Dish Network and an Amazon Fire stick hooked up to it at various times with no difficultly.

None here either. I like not having any commitment. I think you can sign up for reoccurring payments but I'd rather just have my subscription expire at the end of the month.
Im very happy with it too, saves me $100 a month.I finally got Set TV. Very impressed. The interface is extremely smooth, simple, and fast. Picture quality is great, no difference from cable. I've had zero issues with lag or buffering. It looks/feels exactly like cable/satellite for a fraction of the cost. Awesome

Tons of sports and movies, I'm just hoping this kind of deal continues and Big Cable doesn't somehow put the whammy on it.
It could certainly happen at some point. There are plenty of other options out there in addition to this one though. All within the $20-$30 range.
So I’ve noticed my cable box rebooting several times a day for the past few days while it was off. I just noticed today that I have a bunch of new channels including National Geographic channel. I wonder what’s up. I’ve been wanting Nat Geo for a long time but it wasn’t in my package. I’m curious what other new channels I have
