So…Fox One gonna be the cheapest way to watch the races up till mid May? Shows it’s priced at $19.99, unless they decide to double it when the races start.

So Time-Warner / Spectrum's cable service had a bunch of music channels from a service called Music Choice. There were dozens channels, each with a different genre, 24-7, ad-free, included as part of the subscription. MC isn't available for my Amazon Fire Sticks, and similar services don't appear to be available in Hulu or YouTubeTV. Any suggestions for a similar service? I don't mind paying $8 or $10 a month or so for a subscription service. I'm looking for a service only for the Fire Stick, not for any other devices.

Pandora and Spotify have free music options. Subscribing gets rid of the commercials.
And they'll let Darling Bride pick a genre or era, like 'Broadway Tunes' or 'Big Bands' or 'Light Classical'? She won't have to manually build playlists of individual artists / albums / songs?

My coworker uses Pandora, I believe. You pick a genre and it plays different songs. As I understand it, you can thumbs-up or thumbs-down a song and it won’t play it again.

FOX One is pretty solid.
The local affiliate thing is a gripe though. If your local FOX station interrupts for something, you're stuck with that unless it's on FOX 4K.
NBC is doing the same thing with Peacock now. If they interrupt for an NBC News Special Report, you're stuck with it. And from my understanding, CBS Sports live programming on Paramount+ is also just your local channel.
One of the big things we have constantly heard from local and national broadcasters about live sports interruptions is that you can "watch on the app." Now, they're taking that away.

Fox One is its own app though, separate from Fox Sports app. So while you would be interrupted if watching on the Fox One app, you would be able to use your credentials to log into the Fox Sports app and watch on there without the interruption. I haven’t verified yet that Fox allows you to log into the Fox Sports app with your Fox One sign in, but if so, I’d imagine it would be free of local interruptions.
On the topic of Fox One, the only gripe I have is that there isn’t a fast forward on their recordings, so I had to watch the entire broadcast of the truck race without being able to zoom through commercials and yellow flags.

When I went to the FOX Sports app, it sent me directly to the FOX One app. On multiple devices. My guess is they're going to phase that app out, just like ESPN did with some of their stuff, since cable TV credentials get you access to FOX One.

I was able to fast forward through the long ass cautions in the ARCA race.
I'm not surprised you couldn't forward through the ads, but it is unusual to be unable to forward through the program content.

Weird. Was the ARCA race on Fox or FS1? Maybe that made a difference. Also, truck race ended like an hour before I watched it, so maybe that too affected it. It just told me fast forward wasn’t supported. I watch using Appletv device, so that too could play a factor.
That’s a bummer! We’re always getting interrupted here during NASCAR season with severe storm coverage.

Nothing tops when the Bristol Night Race and the Richmond Chase cutoff race were on ABC. Those races were always pre-empted for football or severe weather coverage with no alternatives many times.

NBC's interruptions the other day set me off because it was not an emergency, and in both instances, they could have covered all their ground in under a minute.
Signed into YouTube TV this morning, on their website on my computer. Didn’t have trouble navigating the interface there, so loaded the app on my FireStick. Logged in and immediately got lost. Nothing seemed to match the web page interface. Couldn't find the station guide or Truck race. Same problem with the app on my tablet. Will try again after the race. Hoping there are text instructions somewhere but expect I will have to settle for videos.

The web based version always differed from my firestick and phone apps. Wish I could help but the firestick and phone app interfaces don't seem hard to navigate in my experiences. I'm using them as I type.

YouTube has slowly been rolling out new packages throughout February. They can only be accessed via computer or phone on the website. NOT THE APP. There are six new packages, all cheaper than the standard. $10-$20 cheaper per month. You'll need to look at them to determine if any could apply to your viewing habits. I dropped my monthly price by $10. Not much but $10 is $10.

That helped! On the web page that I looked at first, the Library, Home, and Live tabs are at the top of the screen. After you saying the interfaces weren't the same, I stopped expecting them to and looked more closely. In the apps, those buttons at the bottom. I didn't notice them initially beneath all the other stuff I wasn't interested in.

Awesome. I don't use the website to watch. Only to manage my account. Didn't realize they were different for viewing.
Check out that manage subscription option. You may be able to save some $'s albeit only a little. I wish they would simply let you purchase the channels you watch. I don't need 100+ channels. My own created package would only be about 15 channels, and that might be an over exaggeration.
Well, I can navigate the tablet app now, but the one on the FireStick still doesn't make any sense. More poking around after the race.

My Firestick app have the navigation icons, Library, Home & Live dead center, top of screen layout. LIBRARY, being basically my DVR'd shows/events. HOME, a selection of shows that may be of interest in watching. LIVE, being basically the channel guide.
If you highlight LIBRARY, everything displayed underneath shows my recorded shows/events.
If you highlight HOME, everything displayed underneath shows things of interest according to viewing habits.
If you highlight LIVE, everything displayed below is a sorted television guide. The sorting of that guide can be modified through your phones app or the website but not through the firestick. I moved all of my most watched channels to the top of the guide so I don't have to scroll far to see what I want to see.
I also use Fubo. Their layout is much the same, HOME, SPORTS, GUIDE, MY STUFF.
Well, if you load the YouTube (not TV) app on your Firestick by mistake, it looks nothing like that!

Yeah, I don't know much about the plain YouTube app. I mainly only use that for instructional, how to, videos.
No, my bad! We were talking about the TV app. I didn't realize there is a non-TV app, and had the wrong one installed by mistake. I'll put the TV one on the stick later.
