Charlotte allstar fan vote

Not everyone is in a position to run even close to 2nd. Richard Petty Motorsports raking in revenue of only $40 million/year compared to Hendrick Motorsports bringing in $190 million/year doesn't mean Marcos Ambrose doesn't try as hard as an HMS driver.
I'm aware. ;)

Josh Wise has a decent amount of talent, he's in a ride that restricts him from truly showing all of it but I remember one race this year where he staved off the leader for at least 5 to 10 laps to stay on the lead lap. The guy gives it his all.

Danica may have gotten a better finish but the only one that truly deserved to win the fan vote was Kyle Larson or the man who finished 3rd, Casey Mears.

You deserve a fan vote when the driver with the most fans wins the fan vote. Fan votes aren't won by how skilled a driver is over another. I don't see your logic.

Is Larson more talented than Wise? More than likely.
Did Larson have more people voting for him in the fan vote? Obviously not.

Meh, A driver's popularity should be somewhat tied to his or her skill no? In the baseball all star game, fans don't vote for the most entertaining 240. hitter in baseball.. They vote for most if not all the best players.

Its not like Josh Wise or Danica for that matter have this riveting personality that we must see on display in an all star race.. Even if they did, you can't see that driving on the race track.

I don't mind the fan vote but to say the fan voted driver "deserves to be in the race" I can't really agree with that.

He stayed online and encouraged his fans. That fan vote is well deserved IMO. It's just the allstar race. It's not like he got voted into the final round at homestead.
By the way, if driver popularity was based on driver talent, Danica & Junior would not have legions of followers.

In an ideal world.

All the Dogecoins in virtual existence aren't going to buy a driver talent. It doesn't matter how much money a one-car team raises, you aren't going to buy talent. Very few drivers possess the Kurt-Busch-esque type of talent that it takes to go fast with a one-car operation. The trend will quickly go by the wayside when the scripts, dogecoins, bots and captcha manipulations fail to produce the ultimate goal; Victory Lane.
JMO.
I don't think the Reddit guys are trying to prove anything like that Bobby. They were just trolling NASCAR and Danica fans by putting Wise in the All-Star Race. At least, that's how how I look at it.

This is Reddit afterall, so maybe the social justice warriors do think they're making a difference.

It's just the allstar race.

Exactly. This is a meaningless race for fun and laughs (and money). Anybody "offended" by Wise getting in is already taking it too seriously.

Dat avatar
You like that? It's definitely jarring, to say the least.

I joined this place a year ago and never had an avatar until now. Screw being generic. Now everyone will know me as shirtless Hamslice. :)

Pretty much. That's the only reason I'm not shedding any tears over it.

And I agree...driver talent and driver popularity are not mutually exclusive.

Haha! I love it. Reddit trolling NASCAR.

That's exactly what it is. It has very little to do with Josh Wise, and everything to do with the Doge character.

In case some people didn't realize it, the Doge character has been an extremely popular 'meme' for quite some time...

nascar, you've been trolled :p

Reddit has a massive NASCAR subreddit. They are just as interested in the sport as we are. It would be the same if we were raising money for a small team driver to be sponsored by a "does jeff gordon care anymore" cliche. It is not trolling.

Do you seriously believe any of the people that frequent nascar reddit are Josh Wise fans?
They voted for Wise for one reason. It would be funny to see the Doge car in the all star race.

That's not trolling?

Josh learned how to pose, like Danica the rest is history.

If we raised money and got "does jeff gordon care anymore" on a car, I would consider that trolling.

So now individuals raising money for a underfunded team to have a sponsor in NASCAR is trolling?

When you put funny things on it like the doge or "does jeff gordon care anymore", then yes. When you vote Josh Wise (a backmarker) into the All-Star race, then yes.

Wasn't Kenny Wallace voted in a few years ago? lol

So many hurt feelings over Josh Wise. Its bordering on plain hating.

I heard that Wise offered Danica honorary pit crew member credentials so she could get into the pits tonight.

They weren't trolling like 4chan does. They are proud of doge coin and the doge coin car. They wanted to see it in the Allstar race.

Ehh, it goes both ways. You have some that are gushing about how thrilled they are that Danica didn't get the vote. That isn't hating?

It's all good. Everyone's entitled to their opinion. I do agree that there's no sense getting worked up about it either way, though.

Oh where are you tonight Danica

Nah, I dont hate, I am loving Danica running 9th or 10th among the 2nd tier in the semi and not making the race

That avatar tho..

Lord have mercy --- I've waded through all of this and still don't understand why people are so uptight about Josh Wise
getting voted into the race. So he's not considered a "star" -- so what? People got their act together and, for whatever reason they
had, voted him in.

He didn't wreck anyone. He didn't make any stupid/dumb/ignorant/sloppy/boneheaded, etc moves and finished the race.

I'm with you on that, TRL.

I'd say that people should've got their acts together and voted in whichever driver they felt deserved it.

i think it's more of danica not getting the vote. even the one that don't like her were scratching their head when they announced the winner was josh wise
