Coke Zero Sugar 400 @Daytona Pre Race

Once again, Nascar tries to keep the max speed at 200 or less. they have been doing that for years. Here is a quote the flatfooters will never accept or understand.

"What makes good racing? It’s the relative speed, not the absolute speed. If two cars are going nose-to-nose for the win, it’s just as exciting at 170 mph as it is at 190 mph. Does it really matter that much to you? It does to the drivers."
I made a point about NASCAR lowering speeds again in an attempt to keep the cars dirty side down and you came back with a subjective point about speed not being a factor in what makes good racing. I’m not sure you understood my post.

Bubba is going to have to dig deep and have some good luck this week if he is going to get the 23x into the championship rounds. I would love to see Jordan's car in there on his first year as an owner.

He's pretty good at the Supers. He has had crappy luck but he knows how to play the chess game.

I think Turtles would be a good sponsor.

Does anyone know when the full race(s) replays will be uploaded to YouTube? I'll have to miss all 3 this week due to work and just paused my TV subscription because I've been so busy lately.

They are usually posted to the official NASCAR Youtube channel on Tuesdays following the race.

I miss the days you could stand/walk down there. I've taken so many people down there to experience that, nothing like it.
at Daytona
I always tried to stand where the cars met the tri-oval when they come out of turn 4
only thing that separated you from cars was the 4 foot wide wall

I've been down by the fence at Talladega many, many years ago. It was spine chilling awesome!

I remember the first time I visited Daytona and stood by the fence when they went by...incredible.
As for the craziest fence experience, years ago at Atlanta in Turn 2 or 4, depending on the configuration, we used to climb the fence that literally hung over the track and the cars ran underneath us.

Nowadays you would probably end up in jail for climbing the fence and be banned from the track for life.

We thought it was funny then. There was one security guard, he would walk down make everyone get off the fence, then turn around and start walking away. Bet no one can guess what we did next!
I know it was a pretty stupid thing to do and we could have been killed...but I also used to drive 130 on backroads in the country.

This video reminded me of my Nascar Baptism.

Back in 1982, my first Nascar race, The Daytona 500, we were at the track
during a practice session. There was a (approx) 2'x3' hole in the fence at turn 4 that
was used for tv cameras during the race. No cameras there for practice and
it was wide open with no security to just take a quick peek. All I can remember is Kyle Petty
and Cale Yarborough flying by with the steering wheels very close to their chests.
The Nascar Baptisim was complete at that moment.

what year did you do this?

Are they ordering people to stop washing hands or disinfecting?
Wouldn't matter:
  • In general, the dogs nose is 100,000 to 1 million times more sensitive than the human’s, while the bloodhound has a nose that is 10 to 100 million times more sensitive than ours. The section of a dog's brain related to processing smells is almost seven times larger than ours.
