Congratulations Chase Elliott

I agree with this. As much as I love good, hard racing, respect is everything in NASCAR. Chase didn't earn any with that move. I love trading paint and rubbing but wrecking a guy on the last lap isn't racing. Kyle Larson is the man but I wasn't a fan of his win either - that was dirty driving. Chase's move was also dirty driving. Exact same situations. Larson tried a bump and run but Falk hung on, so he took him clean out. Elliott took Ty clean out because he didn't want Ty to have a chance to retaliate.

You guys must be bored this week, LOL. Many post here nobody races like they used to, blah blah blah. The drivers are too nice, blah blah. He should use the chrome horn blah blah. You finally got one and now its a full blown conspiracy.

I liked how Chase got aggressive and went for the win, I can't complain about that.

What I don't like about it is Ty is running full time for the championship. Chase was just out to win the race and potentially cost a guy valuable points. If you're going to wreck a guy like that, I'd prefer it if you were there to answer for it next week. I'd say Ty is a clean racer but he definitely owes him one for that move.

IMO it's no different than a guy like Villeneuve who shows up for 1 race and drive's all over everybody because he won't have to answer for it in the following weeks and has nothing to lose.

This is next week. Both are racing @ Iowa Speedway this coming Sunday. We'll see what, if anything, happens.

Oh really? My bad, I wasn't aware Chase was running more races. How many is he scheduled for? I don't think Ty would do anything silly but I doubt he'll cut him any slack either.

I'm not sure what his schedule is. I only know that he's running again this week.

He's running 3 additional truck races this year, which includes the one this Sunday.

Drama, name calling and personal attacks on Racing-Forums? Impossible.

Well, I've been guilty of it with two members here - you being one of them - but got it out of my system and moved on. Though I do still enjoy a spirited debate in a sensible manner evey now and then. :D

Ty can't afford to pay him back and Chase knows it. Ty's racing for a championship. And he'd probably get parked if he took out the golden boy.

Drivers aren't stupid. Ty will get him back when it counts, just like what David Reutimann did to Kyle Busch a few years ago.

Exactly, that's what I have a problem with. He took advantage of a guy who has a lot more on the line than himself. I don't catch many truck races but has Ty ever flat out dumped a guy? He seems like a real good kid from what I've seen.

Not anymore. His hopes were slim at best before Chase torpedoed him. I'm sure pop-pop is on board for some payback.

If Ty retaliates he better make sure Chase can't make minimum speed after the repairs or he'll have to look forward to next year's Championship hopes... ;)

Ha I think they would be even after that. Ty gets one chance to retaliate and after that it's dead.

I'm not a fan of the whole wreck-to-win strategy either, but you really gotta wonder why Dillon left such a huge gap on the inside setting up to the last turn with a young driver looking for his first win right on his bumper. If you're in the lead you've got to at least expect the divebomb as a possibility. If Dillon drives defensively on the inside then he takes that entire line away - I highly doubt Elliott would make a pass stick on the outside of that turn. And if he takes the inside and gets bumped out of the way then you know what his true intentions were in the first place and he's screwed either way. Rookie mistakes on both ends in this one, but at least it's exciting to watch.

He should have stayed glued to the inside line and made Chase go wide, but I have a feeling Chase would have rammed him out of the way anyway. He's shown before that's how he races the last lap. As long as he's a man about payback, it's how it is.

Somebody needs to teach him the bump and run, rather than the wreck and run.

I wonder if at any time during his racing career if Ty has intentionally taken out the leader of the race?

3 times perhaps? 5 times? There was another guy who drove a number 3 that made a career out of such antics but he had a mustache so people loved him for it. haha

I remember some punk named Kyle Larson who took out a guy in a race on the Daytona backstretch a few months ago. Whatever happened to him? Is he still around?
