Cup RACE thread --- COTA

Rick Hendrick the "snake" lolololololol.

Find one person with anything bad to say about him. Anyone in the NASCAR garage, his competitors, the media, former drivers/employees, etc. People who actually know him. Go ahead, I'll wait.

A federal jury had something to say about his snake like practices

He sure did a great job by his employees

What does this have to do with how Ross drove today? The part you keep ignoring.

Ross was over aggressive today and I would have an issue with it if it was anyone other than The Felon’s cars.

But Rick crossed a line when he decided to lecture Ross so **** him. You chastise Ross for being aggressive and use your influence to try to stop him, that’s called FO. When he overdoes it on your ass, that’s FA.

Lmao. Someone had to tell him to stop running everyone the **** over. He was literally just ruining people's day because he was wrecking people. That's not being aggressive that's being a jackass.

If you don't think Hendrick was trying to help Chastain so be it. I think that story is B.S. myself. Chastain was wrecking everybody, fords Chevys and Toyotas.

Enjoy those engines the next 10 weeks.

Door Bumper Clear has a running joke about the “Ross doesn’t give a F Tour” for *checks notes* no reason. Got it.

I must be the only one who thinks the turn 1 incident was just a case of close quarters on lap 1 on a tight turn, as happens in similar turns in plenty of series.
As usual there is a thread of truth, but Chastain has had too many of those over driving and loss of control for it to not be a problem.

Byron moves to the top spot.

My tongue was firmly in my cheek. But yeah, ol’ Jack had a major issue with HMS in the 90s

Jack was a sourpuss because he was getting beat, plain and simple. He tried to spread rumors about the 24 team "soaking tires" and other nonsense. Roush was a sore loser and nothing he said about HMS carried any weight. He just couldn't stand losing to them.

Rick Hendrick's biggest crime is giving money to auto manufacturers so he could sell more cars. Ooooohhh wowwww, he's such a badddd person!!! Give me a break.

I couldn't care less about former salespeople trying to sue the dealerships they worked for. That happens to every large auto dealer in the country. Every employee of Hendrick MOTORSPORTS absolutely loved working for Rick and has nothing but great things to say about him.

All I saw was a racing incident. Chastain isn’t the only aggressive driver out there. I think he misjudged the corner.

Elliott still got a top 5 out of it.

In other news, Bell is starting to break out right before our eyes. He could have a monster season in terms of points paying victories.

vv
As I was told last week. When it's someone who has a history they get less leeway.

Fail Earnhardt dumping someone trying to go 5 wide on lap one on the 3rd race of the season.. can't be a coincidence

He took a line into that corner like it was NASCAR Heat 2. Ridiculous to go in there like a bowling ball on Lap 1

The moment Ross cooked it into 1 and turned the 9 car I knew I was sitting out the race thread today lol.

It really says a lot about what drivers think of Rick that when he has his fan fest during All Star Week, most of his ex-drivers come back to sign for the fans.

When you try to go from row 5 to row 2 on the first corner of the race, and are going too fast to make the turn without using someone else's car to stop you, that's not racing, that's a jackass move. Yes, others have done it, but Ross has been around long enough to know better.

Late to the party but awesome clean racing at the end!

I guess the secret sauce for this car on road courses and short tracks is the softer tires. Hopefully Goodyear will continue to improve on it and see even more tire wear throughout a run. Interesting to see how Phoenix will play out with the two tire compounds.

Must be nice. I have no appreciation for it and have to watch this sober.
I remember going to the 1991? World 600. My brother and cousin carried in a loaded cooler that could hold about 200 cans. The thing should have had wheels. Their commitment to carry the thing from the parking lot, up the stairs, and block the walking paths of many was (foolishly) impressive.

I asked him why would you buy an $80 dollar ticket the get sheet-faced beyond any memories of the race. He could have watched at home and kept his ticket money.

BTW Davey Allison dominated the race.
