Cup RACE thread --- Darlington

They were looking for any excuse to put Martinsville on screen so Diffey would get his tracks straight

Been storming here for at least 6 hours. Thunder boomers.

Nothing here but looks like central part of start is getting hammered.

Yeah..... Willy B is gonna put that one in the notebook for later

I hope the 24 and 11 are near each other in the final laps. Hambone has one coming.

If Bob's tweet is accurate, it looks like Reddick needs to finish 3rd or better if Larson wins in order to secure the reg season title.

No. Jimmie isn't in Kyle's league.

Jimmie has 7 Cup Championships, drove a smooth race, and didn't often take himself out of contention with dumb moves.

Petty, Earnhardt, Pearson, Gordon, and Johnson are the top 5 greatest of all time. Larson has a long way to go to catch Jimmie Johnson.

Jimmie also has like 5 off road championships, 100 podiums, and even won a prelude to the dream at Eldora.

Larson is absolutely more versatile. But Jimmie Johnson is amongst the most proven American race car drivers of all time. Before he got old, he's won championships in, frankly, a wider variety of cars than pretty much anyone else in NASCAR outside of Smoke.

Jimmie being a one trick pony/HMS system driver is one of the strangest narratives out there.
