I once made a post on Reddit about Rick Hendrick, and how his drivers seem seem to respect the hell out of himz more than other teams. The post got ripped to shreds.

But theres just a "business as usual" and sort of deel deep sense of respect, moreso than other teams, I see from the drivers.

I know the haters are going to hate, but the fact is that Rick Hendrick has helped more people in racing than would fit on this screen, and you have to look hard to even find somebody he let go say a bad word about him. Well, except maybe Kyle Busch, but he seems to have settled on that being Jeff Gordon's fault.

I don't think Chase was even a teen yet. He's 25. Right? He must have been 11 or 12.

Don't forget though, Chase grew up in the NASCAR garage, and even if he didn't personally know those lost, he surely knew who most of them were, and the aftermath surely registered with him on some level. Also, being a pilot, I would think this accident would stay in the back of his mind.

Gods only know what would happen to me if I admitted I'd only listened to it once, and even then only for half an hour or so.

I actually like the show a good bit. But to me, it was getting stale at one point earlier in the year… I went back to it recently and enjoyed it again.

On the podcast note… I really would like for some more of NASCAR’s personalities to do podcasts. So many other sports have multiple people doing shows each week. NASCAR could use a few more people giving it the ole ‘college try’

They lost their lead engine builder too I thought right? I couldn’t imagine the grief that the company and Rick as a father felt.

Randy Dorton was much more than just the head of the engine department. He was one of the longest tenured employees in the company, and was one of, if not the most trusted advisor on racing matters that Rick Hendrick had. When they were both at the track, they were seldom far apart, and constantly talking to each other.

Chances are those people that were ripping you apart has never been through the doors at the HMS shop that fans don't usually get to go through. I have never met Rick Hendrick personally, but I have been behind those doors a few times and have sat down and spoken to some of his employees and everyone I ever talked to said he treats them very good and they really enjoy working there. I believe what they told me because I see very few turnovers in the employment dept from the lady receptionist at the front desk to the drivers and crew chiefs. There is one fan on this forum that probably will back me up on this because he knows someone personally that works there.

Every contact I have ever had with HMS people has been 100% positive. When they brought Kyle Busch to ARCA races in 2003, their people could not have been more friendly, helpful and accommodating. Even though they had more money at their disposal than the rest of the field combined, they seemed to just want to fit in and be part of the show. The were VERY generous giving out scuffed tires, checking shocks for people, you name it.

Reddick is a BAMF.

Third week in a row.
I normally say it takes around 3 seasons or so for a driver to settle in, sometimes less but not often. No matter how good they are we always see new drivers take a couple of years to adjust.

Tbh while Reddick has done decently for RCR since moving to cup and has ran similar to his teammate (see their battle for the final playoff spot), it seems like he has really started to get comfortable in the series and figure things out in the second half of the year and has since been clearly the better driver.

I think we are starting to see him get settled in as a cup driver and maybe start to reach the potential everyone said he has. I think he is going to win some races (multiple races) very soon, especially with the new car evening things up.

I agree that I don't see how Harvick stopped Chase from winning today. May Chase got distracted and lost focus from laughing so much at seeing the 4 car shrink in his rearview? 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ :XXROFL:

I think there’s always going to be a little name calling here.
Kudos to the mods for babysitting.
Race fans are passionate about their drivers. Y’all seen me wade out into the mud and sling.
Small community here compared to other forums. I bag a little bit I like everyone here cept for one or three guys.

Tbh there were a few I didn't like here at first. Some maybe an acquired taste. But getting to know you guys more I do really enjoy the community and see everyone here shares a love of racing and tbh I like most everyone now. I admit I do kind of ****post some myself but all in good fun.

Chase and Hambone are in pretty good spots, but agree nothing taken for granted at Martinsville. If these cars could take the least bit of banging not quite as much worry. These paper mache fenders crinkle any time they brush something. Plus how many guys are going for broke to win it? Checker or wrecker time.

Fun fact. Without playoffs, and use the current points scale that’s used. Larson and Denny would be separated by 17 points, with Larson ahead. Came into this race tied. It’s why I say despite not having the wins, Denny would also be a rightful champion. He’s got less wins but has 18 top 5s and 24 top tens, and avg finish of 8.1. Kyle’s stats in these departments are just as close with one more top 5 and 10 each, but a worse avg finish of 9.2. Larson has been running at the finish of 32 of the 34 races so far, where Denny has finished them all. It’s honestly really impressive how close they are in every stat but wins. So, I hate we got the playoffs as we could be seeing one hell of a 2 man battle.

NASCAR wants us to embrace the fake pLaYoFfS, though.

I've never seen Blazing Saddles. I thought it was a western. Who knew. BUT, I have watched reruns of M.A.S.H. a hundred times. I never get tired of it. It is my #1 all time favorite series. I will watch it over and over and over. Great actors, great writing.

Only watch it on demand, DVD, or on Turner Classic Movies. Everyone else slashes it to ribbons. The movie has a theme and a point to make, but it conveys them by using some of the most culturally offensive (and highly hilarious) content ever offered by a major studio (Warner Bros.). By the time most networks get done castrating it, the movie is left completely meaningless.

#4 or so on the American Film Institute's list of top comedies, and yet somehow meeting the Library of Congress' standard as "culturally, historically, or socially significant".

"What in the Wide, Wide World of Sports is a-going on here?"

I was referring to the original movie as politically incorrect, not the TV series. If you haven't seen it, well, ... let's just say the movie is a bit rougher than the show. For that matter, don't watch the M*A*S*H movie on a regular TV network either, for the same reasons.

Blazing Saddles is a Western the same way Animal House is about college life, only much better.

Ok I have no desire to watch the movie.
