Why exactly was this race not run at night, it's way too hot in Las Vegas this time of year to get a crowd in the day time, and is dangerously unsafe for the drivers and fans

NBC certainly doesn't want the race to get drowned out by their own big Sunday Night Foosball show. FWIW, the racing is also better on a hot slick track.
