Cup RACE thread --- Martinsville

Austin Dillon too busy being a dart without feathers

The irony of Corey Lajoie in a Ford sponsored by Covette Parts.. hahaha!! They're having an awesome day though and good for them!
The owners sponsor a Ford team for that very reason.

That's guerilla marketing and I like it. I was watching that show on Motortrend the other night ago they were following Lajoie's team in the lead up to this year's Daytona 500. Those guys are digging thru used parts bins for cast-off parts and they're running 15. The #4 team has an unlimited budget LoL

statistically this is a bottom 5 track for Harvick, but ya it looks like a combo of car worse than normal.

Punting Logano at Kansas is looking mighty good right about now

Just got off work. Nice to see some playoff drama. Does anyone actually believe Harvick wont bounce back before the end of this race and make the final four?

I'm sad.. After this year, the only stars from my childhood left that are still active will be Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick, Ryan Newman, and Kurt Busch..

NASCAR: this format rewards winning!!!

*Harvick wins most races in a season in 13 years, has most top 5’s, top 10’s, cams just short of Jeff Gordon’s record, yet doesn’t advance to the championship race.

NASCAR: iTs jUsT lIkE sTiCk aNd bALl sPoRts mUh drAmA eVeRy pOinT mAtTeRs

Between this and being the only Motorsport that doesn’t have practice and qualifying because the sanctioning body is too retarded to cut costs in better ways, it’s no wonder why this sport is dead

Eddie D’Hondt just now; “Come on McDowell you d—-head!!!”

So if the race were to end right now with MTJ winning and Chase finishing P2, does that bump Hamlin out?

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results

The cutoff points racing is exciting to the broadcast partner that believes the racing lacks entertainment value without it, and some media members for whom it provides easy content to obsessively cover in near autistic fashion.

It does not result in larger audiences or greater engagement for cutoff races. For most fans, the "tension" and "drama" created is watching on pins and needles hoping that "the right" drivers happen to make it in based on season-long performance, which should always be the determiner of auto racing championships. When it works, it works by accident.

As has been said, if they insist on a winner-take-all-finale (which to be fair has resulted in a larger audience for that one race), they would be better off with a 35 + 1 format in which the top four after 35 races advance to the final race.

Yeah, GoFas is a very small team and does a lot with the little they have, talk about the haves and haves not comparing those teams.

Lol I don't think there's ever been an unluckier season.

Kevin Harvick retires in disgust and Lajoie is driving the 4 car next year!
That would fit in with it being 2020 and would not surprise me.

These commentators are so ooo, annoying

Listen, I’m gutted for that #4 team BUT these absolutely stupid scenarios that make zero sense are what I’ve been rooting for ever since this format was announced. What would make it better is if Harvick went postal in his interview.

I’ll just leave this here
