Cup RACE thread --- The Roval

NBC's obsession with playoffs and cutlines is all they know what to make of NASCAR, and it's what they think draws an audience, against all evidence to the contrary. I don't know what they'd do if they had to cover a NASCAR race that wasn't about that.

That said, both Jarrett and Petty are better analysts than any that occupy space in the booth, and they offer actual opinions on the day's action when they can. The fault with NBC's approach is not them.

Dale and Kyle are the best people NBC has. I really wish they were calling the race.

If they made that move, they'd have to have Rick and any of the others who stay on placed about ten feet from the nearest microphone to equalize the volumes so that we could hear Dale and Kyle.

100% accurate. Well said

Bubba is gonna lose a lot of fans.

I get he was frustrated with Bowman for getting punted through the chicane on lap 1 and getting wrecked.

BUT

There is a time and a place. Bubba needed to recognize that Alex was being cared for by medical personnel (and Jeff Gordon lol). To have an altercation with him at that point is plain stupid and immature. Especially from Bubba who passed out from dehydration/exhaustion after his first cup race.

The bad part about it is he had time to rethink what he was going to do and did it anyway.

He won't lose a one. Nascar fans have an amazing ability to excuse any behavior from there favorite driver. I swear most of them could climb up in the stands and punch a baby and there rabid fans would call it "passion" or "just telling it like it is". Lmao

“Smooth move of playing the sick card so I couldn’t bust him in his mouth,” Wallace told NASCAR.com about Bowman after the race.

yea this is a guy you wanna root fot

Doubling down afterwards is probably not a wise move. I noticed Bubba wasted no time getting out of there. Look I get he was mad but he is just making it worse.

I wish Bubba had walked away instead. I also wish Bowman had not seen the need to drive through Bubba's quarter panel over a middle finger, and wish that he had behaved with more 'class' and 'maturity' on track. Bubba's move wasn't well considered, but I'm not seeing the grevious harm from the splash of water that some are. Both of them behaved like brats in different ways today, and I'm not feeling the pity party for Bowman.

Glad I didn't have to watch yet another Charlotte mile in a half race this late in the season. Good to see all of the hub bub is back with trash talking and water droplets flying.

Was a cool race but not enough green flag laps. This track seems too narrow at times leading to an absurd amount of cautions. I think NASCAR needs to bring back single file restarts after multiple cautions like that. This race was hurt a bit by cautions, just like the truck race at Eldora

Really lost respect for Bubba after that. Throwing water on Bowman while he was laying along side his car exhausted and then mocking him for "playing the sick card". That's about as classless as you can get.

Oh well, dont crash some one and expect courtesy.

Of course this was bound to happen.

Any update from the ICU on whether Bowman required a dermatologist's attention or an exfoliating treatment after that vicious hydration attack?

If Dale Sr could get boo’d outta Bristol, Bubba will lose respect from some fans.
