Darlington 400 and 500k Pre Race-Thread

And now Kyle Busch fails tech...will start 40th...

Can today get any better? I'm gonna look out my window and have a college nudist sorority van break down in front of my house at this rate.

As long as they don't wear it out every time he passes a car

Is keyboard practice allowed?

If you unplug your keyboard you can work on keystroke reps. But it is like practicing without a stop watch or telemetry. This isn't all bad it can help one to become an accomplished absolute bada** keyboard warrior, and to live the dream. It also can make one better at high speed image searching and feasting on a lifetime of virtual groups when online.

Even better is practicing offline on a word document. You get all the telemetry benefits and NASCAR, the fantasy leagues, RF moderators will never about your keyboard time. They can't tech or regulate the practice.
I personally recommend using a different PC at a different address or unboxing a new PC with a modern that has never been connected.
Keep your blinds shut while practicing and never post your practice results or experience on any social media.

Are Dvorak keyboards permitted or is this strictly a QWERTY forum?

One engineer on track...

I can only imagine the information about to be pulled in at each respected team location.

Lets have fun today and enjoy each other, I really appreciate everyone here even more after all of this BS.

Thanks. It’s all so complicated.

I’ll just crack my knuckles instead.

The Hell with the fans; I'm complaining because I'M not in the stands!
They could have probably let a limited number of people in the stands to watch the event. It's not like they don't have precedent. Heck, we were social distancing for a long time at Bristol after the reconfiguration.

I'm not really complaining. I support any decisions that put real cars back on real tracks.

I think they proved today that racing with no practice is not a major problem. One incident on the first lap at a track like that is not surprising even if they had practiced for a week straight.

Really excited for Darlington 2 now. The invert should be a lot of fun for the first stage as guys buzz through the field. Jimmie and Byron have a lot of work to do starting deep in the field.

Also shout-out to all the guys who had AMAZING-good runs yesterday- Reddick and Nemechek especially. Two career-best days for those guys. I can't believe Nemechek got that #34 back-marker car up to 9th. That's INSANE! Also great days for Ty Dillon, Bubba Wallace, and Ryan Preece who got 7th in the 2nd stage.

Wednesday's starting lineup. Bowman and Harvick start 19th and 20th
Race Information

#37-Ryan Preece will start the Toyota 500 at Darlington Raceway from the pole.
#13-Dillon will start second followed by #22-Logano, #14-Bowyer, #12-Blaney, #12-Newman, #21-DiBenedetto, #2-Keselowski, #10-Almirola, and #3-Dillon.
The starting lineup was based on the finishing order of Sunday’s race, with the top 20 finishers being inverted and the remainder of the field starting where they finished Sunday’s race.

We will have to wait and see how many times Kyle Busch's car has to go through tech before we will know his starting spot. :)

Kenseth back driving in the race, Newman back driving in the race in the 6, Stenhouse around before the end of lap one and no fans in the stands. As far as I'm concerned, NASCAR was pretty much back to normal by Sunday night.

Also, I love the idea of inverting the field. I had been wishing on Sunday that they would do it at some point in time.

Here they are wheeling the KDB car in for the second time. I think they tried to pull the ol' let's let them find one thing wrong and hope they will miss our rear camber deal.

Of course. Or, NASCAR wanted new fans to see how passing is done. You pick. Never mind.
