Daytona 500 RACE thread ! !

Fox owns Tubi

Tubi isn't the same as Peacock, Disney Plus, HBO Max, Netflix, and etc. They don't have original shows. Fox doesn't have the capabilities right now of doing original shows on a streaming service, they can barely get original content on the Fox network. They do have Fox Nation, but that is just an extension of the Fox Noise Channel.

Granted, I get several streaming services for free, but the combination of these streaming services with YouTube TV on top of it is still cheaper than my DIRECTV bill was.

The NBC's Golf Channel (now in CT?....🤔)has definitely been pushing their live streaming hardcore. For a lot of golf fans, streaming Thursday and Friday rounds while at work makes sense. Hockey has a similar niche type fan. Plus, local contracts matter most there. With that said, it's a calculated gamble no doubt. I'm interested to see how bars and such handle streaming sport.
Golf Channel isn’t going to last most longer IMO. Their coverage is worse (across the board) then NASCAR personally. Today wasn’t completely dreadful besides the weekly coverage gap

One year at Richmond, they ran like 20 laps under caution before calling the race and postponing it, then decided to restart the race and run the full 400 laps on Sunday. I always liked that call. Given that they've only run 10 laps, I think NASCAR should let these teams roll their backups out and hit the reset button on this race.

Yeah ... let’s penalize the people who got through that.

It is going to rain in about 20 minutes. Could be light or heavy, and it will be relatively short in duration (half hour-ish). The question then is would NASCAR peruse a 10pm start time? Right on the cut-off of where they would push it to the next day.

They are currently drying the track. If they could get some heat in it and the rain is light....it's possible we race tonight, imo.

Bars will adapt pretty easily. Most of your TVs on the market have Roku, Fire, or AndroidTV software built in. Others have their own Smart TV software. Even the cable boxes from many of these companies have software to access Smart TV apps.

Yeah it's a done deal. I recently talked to a former employee of the GC (now a weatherwoman in Nashville) and she said it's cooked. It's a shame! My family got to know Rich Lerner a little bit from his time covering Lehigh football in the 90's for WFMZ in Allentown, PA;. he put his heart and soul into the network.

I personally don't mind NASCAR's network setup. I just wish they maintained more power. The NFL has power, the SEC has power, the Big 10 has power, Notre Dame has power, the NBA has power (star driven) when it comes to contract negotiations with networks/mainstream media etc. NASCAR, NHL, PAC12 etc need to do better.....

let's just say we have a better chance of having a sharknado in Cleveland

Don't say that....nearly any phenomenon is possible in Cleveland.

I’ve been away having dinner so I may have missed it but Has anyone brought up running the oval on rain tires yet? That was a RF’s.com favorite at the end of last year.

We hit the InO across the street from the Summit warehouse a little too often.....
I would be very surprised if you didn't already know this, but Lynsi is a real hardcore car enthusiast and her family use to sponsor a lot of drag racing cars before their fatal plane crash and then even after Lynsi took over the reins at In&Out she still has done so much for the hot rod car community here in SOC. She races in super comp and sponsors some other cars also. Here is a commercial they shot for the 70th anniversary of Hot Rod magazine and In&Out Burger a few years ago. That was a very fun day with a lot of cool cars.

For now..

I would hope they would if the rain is no threat and they can restart at 10 that they should do it I mean they have done it in the past.

Watching the clash again, it is obvious that Blaney was having a brake issue. Even after exiting the turns his brakes were still glowing hot and at the end of the final lap they were throwing sparks.

I ****** hate on and off rain, more than anything.. Rain delays suck, but I'd rather us get one downpour and get on with the race, then this on and off ****

I'm sorting a couple of days of bird photos, tagging them by species, and uploading a few to eBird.
Ive failing at trying to get my registration refunded to me because all the ways my DMV wants to really make sure its me has failed, I bet you are having more fun than I. I really want that $94 :D

I’m playing NBA2K 21. I’m bummed and feel bad NASCAR has weather issues at yet another 500. Seems they can’t catch a break. Retractable roofs over every track is my solution

It's closing in on 8 PM on the EC. At this point I'm just waiting for the "bad news"....:(

What state? I renewed my Mom's license on line in NC a couple of weeks ago. Piece of cake, and I'd never used their system before.
