You dont drive in and chop someone on the left rear , especially when they had position on you which the 24 did, Rookie move and even he knows that.

Bad and poorly timed block, Byron gets pushed and does a great job of saving the car. Throw a half-assed block, expect to get pushed out of the way. Brad K got bulldozed by Stenhouse last year, he isn't taking any **** this year. I don't blame him, its not the time to be doing crazy stuff like that.

Byron learned something important today, better be ready for Saturday.

Nah, rook move is blocking top to bottom in practice when you already know the history, keep your baby self up high.

He never moved top to bottom. Unless someone is inside your left rear its your track. The 2 nerfed him on his bumper cover. Rookie move by Brad

No, the 24 had the lead and the track, he can make his entry in to the corner if he is clear which he was. Anyone can drive in deeper and knock you out of the way. 2 car was at fault 100 %
 
had Byron not made the huge amazing save... and then this incident wiped out the 24 along with the 22, and a few others... I wonder what the reaction would have been... Forcing his own teammate along with others to a backup car.

Either way, it should be interesting to see if anyone races him differently.
 
Willy B needs to stand up and get in Brad's face.
 
Im pretty sure BK knows what comes around goes around. He knew what he was doing and was willing to take the risk.

I mean people knew in Srs day if you chopped him you KNEW you were gonna get paid back.

I like Brad and think he is one heck of a racer and a big picture guy. I just don't see what the 24 could have done differently. Watching Brad's interview from last year he said they need to do more wrecking. Maybe he is using this as a way to get attention to all that is currently wrong with plate racing.
 
yeah it might be time for one of Kez's words of wisdom about the racing. Probably has his speech ready if he wrecks out.
 
It’s amusing to me that Brad uses a not well established driver to make his point.... and in practice of all places. Can’t help but think if it was one of his teammates, a JGR , HMS, Carl Edwards or the 4 he would have found a way to check up...need I remind in practice. He also wouldn’t have done that to the last guy that drove the 24 car successfully to 4 championships and 93 wins. He found a guy that wasn’t going to retaliate, easy prey if you will. That’s okay Brad, retaliation can be a bitch. Hopefully his daddy won’t go on tv again pleading for his sons life when the retaliation comes back around.

Except the block that Byron made happens 20 times a lap and you can bet your ass if Brad was leading practice he’d make the same damn block.

If they wanna be a billy badass, do it in the big race. Trying to “send a message” from some year long grudge in practice is dumb and childish.

I'm not blaming it on Byron, but its the reason why Brad is so aggressive and will stay that way. We all know its Stenhouse's fault in this case, but stuff like this with a fast piece he had last year will be remembered.

I think its just funny folks will stay quiet about certain drivers until once accident happens. Then its the end of the world for some. I can't wait to see this live tomorrow, I'm truly hyped for this. Its been a while since I've been to Daytona.
 
Everybody keeps calling it a block. It wasn’t. After the 2 started to pull down to the bottom, Byron never put Brad in his tire tracks... didn’t have him covered square.

The 24 SQUEEZED the 2 and followed him down the track. Normally there’s nothing with that. It’s a defensive move to make another driver lift to avoid contact or to protect a corner entry by giving the car behind a bad angle. I totally understand all of the why and how.

But this isn’t F1 and this isn’t a track where the 2nd place driver can say to himself, “I’ll just let him go now and get him in the next corner.”... especially since lifting in that scenario might lose a driver 14 positions by the time they even get to the next corner.

This is exactly what Brad has been pissed about in the past. There’s a handful of drivers that have started running up front at the SuperSpeedways lately that lead the pack while looking in the mirror and squeeze other drivers way too late into a pass attempt, putting the whole field at risk based on one driver’s split second decision.

Block all you want to cut off other drivers momentum, but get in their lane before they get a run on your quarter panel and don’t squeeze other drivers and make them think about lifting and getting wrecked, or not lifting and wrecking you.

Brad blocks all the time, yes he does. But he’s decisive and quick about it. He knows how to kill a car’s run on him before it amounts to anything... WITHOUT putting the cars behind him in an absolutely ****** spot. He’ll also eat crow and drop to the back if he gets caught out before he puts himself in a spot to get spun because he offered up his left rear to another driver’s nose.

Like Snoop Dogg says, “Don’t meet me there, BEAT me there”.

And as far as wrecking in practice... would you rather he did it during the race, when the points and the money are on the line? He feels bad for the team because their driver was playing chicken with the equipment, and Brad’s already said not to play that game with him.

This. Nothing bad ass or “veteran being a leader of the garage” about doing a move like that in practice. We’re talking about practice.

That was 90% Stenhouse for trying to push Brad while darting back and forth. I'll give Byron 10% of the blame for the block BUT he didn't do anything that every other single driver out there wouldn't have done in the same situation, right or wrong.

You only quoted half of the statement.

When the leader squeezes another driver trying to make a pass at the last second, the leader is putting that choice on the 2nd place car... and they have to ask themselves that same question you just asked at 200 mph, instantly.

So... don’t throw an attempt at a block late, and maybe more cars can cross the finish line.

These drivers get paid millions to make these exact decisions thousands of times a race. If he can’t stand the heat, get off the asphalt. What does he want, the leader to just let him go?

All he’s done is send the message that anyone will hang him out to dry or dump him every chance they get.

There isn't one driver who wouldn't work with Brad IMO. He is the new Jr. on plate (errr spacer) tracks. He knows it, and so does everybody else. If you are with him, you are likely first or second.

Well let’s get it back on track. With Bad Brads lessons on blocking now learned it’s going to be fun to see how this plays out. I think it’s definitely peaked interest.

That’s what I took from his message. He boldly said he’s not gonna lift.

No car out there should lift for brad at any point in 400 miles. Race him like he wants to race.

Lol. Pretty sure Brad can handle the heat or he wouldn’t have done what he did.

And if the leader can lazily swerve in front of other cars, call it a “block”, and nobody is supposed to pass him for it... then where’s the million dollar decision? Hell, where’s the racing in that mentality? Brad made a decision. He didn’t lift. Pay the man!

Byron made a decision too, tried to pressure the 2 into not passing him. He did his job. Pay that kid too!

Brad never said he’s gonna dump everybody, never said he was gonna hook any quarter panels or drive through cars in front of him. He’s just not going to lift when people that make that “late block” squeeze move... he’s made a decision that’ll make the leader make a decision on the last lap.

That’s racing on these big tracks anymore, it’s all head games.

Personally, i’m loving having something to jaw about before qualifying that doesn’t involve lug but penalties.
 
Well the Keselowski’s like to dish it, apparently even sending their messages in a practice session.... but they don’t take it very well.

Here’s Bob threatening to put his uniform back on when someone gave brad his own medicine.

Meanwhile, what's with Chastain not being on the original entry list with Smithley in the #15 car and then Chastain back on the entry list in the #27 car (replacing Reed Sorenson) with Houff in the #15 car (replacing Smithley).

Mess with my low level fantasy pick why doncha. :confused:
