Edwards to Joe Gibbs Racing, Suarez?

If they do jump the Toyota ship, it will be a huge shock and a huge blow to Toyota. MWR is good but not top team good. I enjoy Toyota in NASCAR and really hope they stick it out with Gibbs.

didn't Gibbs already dump Chevy and Pontiac, what's so hard to believe they would dump Toyota?

Suppose that Edwards may be going to JGR with Ford's blessing because JGR is switching to Ford and in partnership with RFR?

It is also possible that Sadler is going to be cut lose for Wallace to take over that ride?

Ford said good-bye to Carl.

JGR is at the 2015 test in Michigan with Toyota. Just sayin'...... TRD wouldn't let them do that unless they were going to be there I wouldn't think.

If Gibbs switches to Chevrolet, think they'll use Hendrick engines? I'd imagine that would be their #1 choice, but Hendrick already supplies engines to like 11 teams I think. Of coarse if Gibbs expands to 4 cars, it's not like Hendrick would struggle having to supply engines to 4 more teams.

That's what I'm afraid of. It pretty much did Pontiac in when JGR went back to Chevy after 2002 (although the brand itself disappeared a few years later). I think Ricky Craven was Pontiac's main guy in 2003, and they left NASCAR after that season. Like I said in an earlier post, I don't know if MWR alone is enough.

That was announced a while back. An agreement is an agreement, I'd think.

GM pulled Pontiac out of Nascar.

I stand corrected :)

I just figured it out. JGR is buying KBM. They say the announcement affects 4 nascar racing series. Well JGR doesn't technically have a Truck team, other than the equipment they provide KBM. So possibly announcing the Carl deal, Suarez and Bubba to NWS, buy KBM, and something to do with a lower series.

After Gibbs jumped ship. Gibbs actually built the new 2003 body style for the Grand Prix, and then decided late in 2012 to jump ship to Chevy. After that Pontiac stayed put for one more year before GM pulled the plug.

Are there any pics of how the Gibbs cars would've looked with the 2003 bodies?

Bingo. I bet that's it.

No one would believe Jeff Gordon and Kasey Kahne run the same engines either.
i was joking. I know that yates builds all the ford engines.kahne doesn't have the same drive/desire that the 24 and the 48 have.

The 88 ain't have a bad year either. Really makes the 5 stand out, to be honest.

Why would KBM sell a successful gig?

Junior went through that a few years ago too. 2009 was probably the biggest example. Jimmie Johnson, Mark Martin, and Jeff Gordon finished 1-2-3 in points. Junior finished 25th.

It's pretty good speculation. Joe Gibbs rarely makes poor decisions so I'm looking forward to Tuesday, whatever the news.

Hmm....would this mean Brian wouldn't have a Lexus to landscape the palm trees around Daytona track anymore?

Same reason Harvick sold to RCR. Takes time and resources to run those teams. Kyle might want to focus on a Cup title. Also it is no secret KBM, while being a successful truck effort has struggled with sponsorship through the years.
