Fontana Pre-race Race Thread

Matt might be a threat again this weekend. He's been strong every race so far.
He might've won last week if Gordon hadn't parked him.

The physics says there won't be much passing at full speed if they are all lined up behind each other. A car pulls out and the wind will blow them back. But if two of them get separated from the pack or there is two or more columns, I think it will be "on" with passing. Restarts should be good too. I have high hopes for a good race

Kenseth is good at Fontana in a Roush Ford. I guess we'll see what he can do in a Toyota ;)

All the Manufacturers are so close together, I don't think it will make much difference. I think Toyota has backed down on their "trick" motors, so it comes down to the breaks and the driver. I think Kenseth is more motivated to win than he has in the past with Roush the last few years. Gibbs has to be easier to work for.

IMO moving the Nationwide series from IRP to the Brickyard is one of the worst decisions NASCAR has made recently.
:fixed:
They are running the trucks at Rockingham, you don't want to miss that one. Pretty cool, I watched Andy Hillenburg At Tulsa Speedway running a sprint car when he was 15. He was fast from the start. It was great when Nascar threw him a bone and started having the trucks run at Rockingham.
Better get your tickets ordered. Last year the joint was about 85% full, with only around in Turn 2 available.

I'm guessing TV coverage is bad and none of you have been to ACS because there has always been passing. The bummer is that one guy usually hits the set-up straight off the trailer and kicks everyone's ass. Hopefully the new car will allow for more than one team to get the set-up. I expect to see 212 mph going into 3.

Sadly the laps all after that on what lap 2 didn't live up to it. That had to be the slowest flip in NASCAR history. Then again maybe every race their should be started with water on the track. That was the race though that they didn't decide to call until 2 am and I had to be up for school at 6.

I always think of how awesome that would be for several sports. NFL at 10am!
Spent a Thanksgiving weekend in San Francisco with some relatives when they still lived there a few years ago. Awesome. College football kickoff at 9 am running all day, NFL kicking off at 10 am and running all day the next day. I thought it was pretty cool to be eating breakfast while watching football.

Kenseth's performance has been surprisingly impressive so far this season, he probably would've won last week if the rainbow warrior hadn't blown a tire in front of him. Matt looks good to win this week, especially since it's Toyota's turn according to NASCAR's distribution of success formula for 2013/Gen6.

Not to hijack the thread, but didn't Mark Martin seem to have a renewed sense of enthusiasm when he left Roush, too? And Mark and Jack were pretty close, or so it seemed. Near the end, Martin was damning his team with faint praise, and just seemed resigned to not running well. Now, and even with the temp rides he got after leaving Roush, he's eager to say how lucky he is to have a fast car, and is a serious contender among the top teams.

If you haven't seen an Auto Club Speedway race, the racing mimics many of the young Hollywood stars who live nearby - strung out.
Damn DP, best one you've posted since you got back. LOOK OUT HE'S RESTED UP

I don't want to quote the pic of Tony again, but how about that dork holding out the old Home Depot swag? Tony ought to tell him "Dude, that crap has to be 3 years old. My merch trailer is between Joonyer's and Danica's, go drop some plastic on a new t-shirt."
