I dunno, I just feel like at some point somebody has to be left out of the Chase. Pretty much every year there are a couple of guys right there near the cutoff position, and I'm sure there was subtle "race manipulation" happening even then. Where do we draw the line?
And on an unrelated note, I would love to know how NASCAR plans to police all this "race manipulation" in the future. For example, how in the world are they going to be able to accurately tell whether a driver let someone by or just got outright passed by someone that had a strong run on them? How will they be able to accurately tell if someone just pits because they have a problem, or just for the heck of it vs. pitting to give a teammate an extra spot? There's too much potential for controversy here. Oh wait, controversy creates cash. Nevermind.
