Hamlin fined for comments

I think what will happen is this. Nascar has probably already told everybody (on the inside) to make sure Denny wins his appeal. They know they have a PR nightmare on their hands. They will stick to their guns for now to make them look strong and when Denny wins the appeal they will say hey the appeal process we have in place works. They will tell Denny (privately) to damn well watch his step in the future or he may be driving a go cart in the future for a living.

Nascar wants to keep this as quiet as possible and has probably already told Gibbs and Fed Ex , hey we are going to take care of your guy so just keep your mouths shut.

To serious NASCAR fans this is a big story, I think. Look how much attention it has gotten here - and on other forums I am sure. Not to mention the Fan Council and NASCAR.com.

But Johali's right, outside of those fans, it's a non-story.

You dont get any or much more hard core about stock car racing than me ( I'll match or exceed anybody on here for miles dragging an rv to races every year and tickets bought except maybe DP and it would be close) and I could care less about the most recent denny drama. And as for the attention, on this site danica with a hangnail is cause for a great deal of concern as well as the Bad one tweeting or anything else that could stir controversy. This is conspiracy and soap drama central and the members love it when they have something new to obsess over.
 
Dan-Icky is a non-story to me.
Michael Waltrip's marital status is too as is that of Brian France.

But Denny and NASCAR going toe-to-toe in the media regarding Denny's insolence is a big story.
He could end up missing races and I think that a Chase Contender who is put in this position is newsworthy.

Now, is it as newsworthy as Eddie Haskell winning???
 
It is a big story for the hard core nascar fans because some of us have watched nascar bully people around for decades. Now, somebody stands up to them and has called them out. DW is a shill for the France family and wrote a column about his take.

No criticism ever gets through to DW, because he always knows better. nascar says it was bashing, and DW takes it from there without ever making an honest judgement of what Denny said.
 
If u shoed Dw the footage of tony and jr puttin the product down, what would he say?

DW has said he loves this car from the very start, compared to the COT I can see why, I like it better than the COT. But Denny was made an example of for the rest of them. If Dale JR or just about anybody else but Denny or Kurt Bush had said the same thing..nothing would have happened

That's the problem with NASCAR media, they're basically just puppets for the powers that be. Other sports' commentators are far more critical of the "product" when the situation calls for it, but the NASCAR talking heads rarely give you anything but a bunch of sugar-coated BS.
 
DW will stand up for anything JR says. He knows that he is the franchise. Denny...not so much. Now DW is all JR and Danica. The top two

Check my and your past posts and and see who the insult artist and smartass really is. I'm just tired of so called race fans constantly belittling and threatening to leave the sport I love, but dont expect me to not voice my opinion on the pissers and whiners.

Nascar shot themselves in the foot on this deal, they overreacted, like most companies that have bad management, they made a knee jerk reaction without thinking about it first. Fan opinion is way over in Denny's corner any pole you take. There will always be a few who will side with Nascar for personal reasons. They are getting away with fining Hamlin, and most of the others are intimidated to keep their mouth shut. DW works for fox, he will say whatever they tell him to say, it probably increases ratings if they can stir the pot. Fox is the biggest ho in town. But DW also likes to keep his mug on the tube and the checks coming in.
 
After reading and viewing DH comments, he is right and that is what upsets NASCAR . In what he said made me what to like him because he spoke the truth, after all he is in the car experiencing the performance. What NASCAR needs is a Robin Miller to speak the truth for the drivers.

Very nice choices of pics. I love the one in the grass, but not quite as much as the one the set. I had no idea she had that kind of a body. Her face just doesn't do it for me at all so I never really paid attention. Holy crap those are some nice legs though! I even kinda like the scar on the knee in that pic, it gives them a little more character, less plastic looking.
 
Denny, FedEx, or JGR seems to have pussied out.

announced today that the $25,000 fine assessed to driver Denny Hamlin on March 7 will be settled per Section 12-3 of the 2013 NASCAR rule book after being informed by Hamlin that he will not appeal the penalty. Hamlin was fined after the sanctioning body determined he had violated Section 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing). NASCAR considers this matter closed

After a lot of thought I have decided not to appeal the fine NASCAR has issued. Dragging myself, my team and NASCAR through the mud for the next 2 weeks would not be good for anyone. I firmly believe I am in the right on this issue and will stand behind my decision not to pay. I understand NASCAR will do what they feel is necessary based on my decision. Thanks to all of my fans and peers who have supported me in this decision. I look forward to putting it to rest.
 
Denny did nascar a big favor. They will just deduct it from his winnings and be done with it. Smart move by Denny, but it would have been better if nascar recinded it.
 
Remember the Fram commercial? Pay me now or pay me later. It makes sense so they can concentrate on racing but then I'm surprised it happened so fast.
