So...Kurt Busch to the 29?
So...Kurt Busch to the 29?
If Richard wants to see the 29 in Victory Lane he'll choose Kurt over Austin.Or Austin Dillon. Burton's going to keep his seat warm for Ty Dillon.
Agreed....I thing Kurts' career is all but over,,I hope he saved a lot of money over the yearsThere's a thought. That could be a good move by Richard, IF he can find a sponsor. Sadly, I think Kurts days in a top ride are over. Instead of being part of the rise of Penske racing, he's on the outside looking in.
I would think as a team they still have to perform to keep the sponsor happyAm I the only one that sees this as a stupid move on Harvick's part? Announcing you are leaving a team fifteen months out just seems a bit strange to me. I wonder how much support Kevin will get next year.
Similar to the KK move to Hendrick with the announcement being made that far in advance.Am I the only one that sees this as a stupid move on Harvick's part? Announcing you are leaving a team fifteen months out just seems a bit strange to me. I wonder how much support Kevin will get next year.

I think it's only a secret to us.Even if they wanted to, it may be impossibile to keep the secret that long.
How much support is he getting now? I think Harvick sees the writing on the wall and knows Childress was going to can him the second Austin Dillon told Grandpa he wanted to run Cup.
Harvick made the chase as did Boyer who used to drive for Richard. I think RCR should have dumped Burton and kept Boyer but that is just my opinion.
Menard has won a race more recently than Burton.
Bowyer left RCR and he's doing better than he ever did at RCR.
The clock's struck 12 on Jeff Burton but Childress.
Speaking of which, I don't ever see Kurt going to RCR. Richard was ready to take off his watch over Kurt in the Winston several years back (2004?) after Kurt purposley wrecked an RCR car to get a yellow and then ran his mouth about it.I think Richard is too busy looking for someone to hold his watch than he is to worry about his racecars. Maybe if he left the watch on the dresser top he'd be better off.
Then why does Richard let Kurt sit in on team meetings?Speaking of which, I don't ever see Kurt going to RCR. Richard was ready to take off his watch over Kurt in the Winston several years back (2004?) after Kurt purposley wrecked an RCR car to get a yellow and then ran his mouth about it.
Thats something I didn't know about, Maybe all the years have helped Richard forget. Then why does Richard let Kurt sit in on team meetings?
The only name mentioned in your post that is capable of a Cup Championship is Kurt Busch.Austin to the #29 team in '14, which will return to its original number.
Ty to the #31 the following year, when The Mayor steps out to start his political career.
Menard stays as long as the checks keep clearing.
Danica is let go as soon as the checks quit clearing.
Harvick and Stewart dominate plate races for the rest of the decade.
Kurt Busch never gets in another 'quality' ride, and eventually becomes the first former champion to S&P for Joe Nemechek.
Seriously, this can't surprise anyone, considering how many times Tony drove Kevin's N'wide cars. Tony would have taken him from the beginning if Kevin had been available.

For better or worse, these days being capable of winning a championship includes the ability to keep the sponsors happy; or at least not piss them off. That's how an otherwise capable driver winds up driving for the #51 and #78, which are definitely not capable of taking him to a championship. The only name mentioned in your post that is capable of a Cup Championship is Kurt Busch.
