Honda Indy Toronto

been raining for a week here, boy did we need it, sun just came out a couple hours ago, we set cold records, 3 days with a high below 80

"They will try to get this race in, if at all possible." What does that mean?

OK, this is weird. I just got notification from the Indycar app on my phone, that the checkered flag has flown. It shows that Bourdais, Power, Casttroneves were the top three. Ummmmm WTF?

Honda Indy Toronto‏ @hondaindy
ANNOUNCEMENT: We will STILL see #2inTO!! Two @IndyCar races tomorrow! Details to follow...
Wow! I am kind of shocked, the IndyCar app alert on my phone said that (paraphasing) "tomorrow's schedule will be run as normal." Not so normal now, it seems!

The promoter probably said "We paid sanctioning fees for two races, you assholes better run two races or we want our money back."

Both will be on NBCSN and Saturday tickets will be honored on Sunday.

Well, they kind of mucked it up today, definitely a point they could have started there, but at least they're doing everything in their (Will) power to get both races in and making it right for the fans there.

The real question is will Briscoe, Power and Montoya have to start at the pack of the field for the early race? Oh boy oh boy. Power qualified P2 so it's kind of a big deal.

SCHEDULE UPDATE: Two 75-lap races -- a two-wide rolling start for Race 1 at 10:30 a.m. (ET) and a standing start for the 4:15 p.m. (ET) Race 2 -- will be contested. Both races will be telecast on NBCSN.

And the early race will start after the F1 race ends. It's a Christmas miracle!
Don't know what IndyCar did to get NBCSN to preempt the Tour de France (with F1 getting the boot to CNBC for a few weeks), but well done.

I bet they call kingsettes, and start everybody back like nothing happened...that will jack up Foyt and Andretti.

Today's rain race with rain tires was cancelled due to rain.

Way too much standing water and spray on the backstretch to be considered safe. The Firestone wet is more like an intermediate tire too.
backstretch didn't have any crown in it, looked like a pond, and I couldn't figure out what good street sweepers were doing. Sweeping rain? I think the Canadians don't do rain, now snow, that's different.

Oh darn, NASCAR wins again.
They've always red flagged if there was standing water on the track. I remember being at the old CART races at Road America when I was 5 or 6 and the races being delayed due to standing water on the track.

Marco Andretti @MarcoAndretti
Double 65 lap races tomorrow! Let's go ! Sorry to the fans but hope we can make it up to you tomorrow !

Graham Rahal @GrahamRahal
Pretty pumped up for a huge day tomorrow. 2 races, 65 laps each, and a great chance to move up in… http://instagram.com/p/qpy_CJuPIj/

And Finally, from Rahal...LOL

Graham Rahal @GrahamRahal
Oh and @DaleJr I'm hoping you're going to bring @Amy_Reimann cause I really want to meet her more than you.

Here in Canada, Sportsnet gets feeds from whichever US channel and have some french cycling scheduled so hopefully they'll continue to air what NBC is broadcasting.

Edit: Found this, for those in Canada

Sportsnet coverage: Race 1 will be telecast on Sportsnet 360 and Race 2 will be telecast on Sportsnet East, Ontario, West and Pacific. Rob Faulds is the chief announcer and Bill Adam the analyst.

This Indycar weekend has had almost enough drama to get Paul Tracy driving again ;)
