how many wins for the hendrick group?

I dunno why everyone is giving Chase so many wins.. especially more than JJ.. Id say 6 or 7.. 4 for JJ AND 2-3 Between the rest with Chase getting 2 max.

..and it's Hendrick not Hendricks

Am I the only one who that's a bit of a pet peeve for?

Yes, it's a peeve for me, just like people who type Jimmy instead of Jimmie. As for Chase, unless the new Camaro is a real dog, anything less that four wins for him will be a disappointment as far as I'm concerned. Heck, he could have won HALF of the playoff races, and probably SHOULD have won at least two.

I'm sure that when he wins, that the individuals that dislike him and said he can't close, will say it was the car and not the driver.

Which is why it's time to step up and close the deal. REPEATEDLY.
I agree he’s gotta win 2-5 races this year imo to show he’s learned to close the deal, you posted earlier he could have won half the playoff races last year and he was oh so close. But racing is a coulda shoulda type sport, he’s got to win this year and I believe win early.

I just don't see how u can say that it will be a disappointment if someone with zero career wins gets less than four.. that's some serious pressure to put on the kid. He hasn't proven even once that he can close the deal and now he's gonna get 4 in a season?.. I'm not saying he can't do it.. hes good.. but to expect it is a bit much.

I do love that purple haze song and the way he could play a guitar with his teeth.. and whats equally impressive is that he plays a right handed guitar left handed.. and... Oh wait... You mean Rick Hendrick's racing team? No.. not really no.

I want to make it clear.. I do like Chase and I know he can do it.. He will have a good career.. But to expect that much right now is (IMO) going overboard. I think he'll get 2 and that's questionable.

ha ha ha it always brings a smile to my face when someone busts out the "Hendricks Motorsports" it cracks me up I dont know why.

I think to add to that logic is if he does get 2, hopefully that positive momentum will lead to 4-5 wins

If Chase is the highest finishing Chevrolet again this year, will Rick cut JJs salary?Just asking because of the state of Nascar, get younger drivers for a cheaper rate.

Chase AND his team have already shone that they can do EVERYTHING, except lead those last couple laps. It isn't going to take much of an improvement to go from 0 wins to four. Again, this is predicated on the new car being equal to what Toyota has. We're not talking about someone who has struggled to finish races or struggled to get top fives. We're talking about somebody who was a handful of laps from winning several playoff races. I predict you are going to see an even more focused, an even more determined driver in 2018 buoyed by the knowledge that he can run with big dogs every week. At this point, I'm more concerned about the team holding up their end of the deal than I am the driver.

We're talking about somebody who hasn't won yet.

As you correctly point out, he's not doing this by himself.

Imagine what his dad would have accomplished had he been as well prepared and financed as Chase has been? I remember when Davey Allison was a rookie in 1987. Junior Johnson said he was the best prepared rookie since Earnhardt. Dale won once as a rookie, Davey won twice, And I think he ran 25 of the 29 events. That's how good he and Robert Yates Racing were right out of the box. Gordon didn't win in his rookie season, but he was very competitive. I can see Chase more like Gordon. Once he starts winning, he may win...a lot.

I think Chase would do well if he gets 2 wins, 10 top 5's and 15 top 10's. In today's racing that is huge. Don't forget they are starting the season with a car that hasn't raced yet. Took Toyota awhile to get their new car going. Welllllll except for the one with a Canadian CC. :D

Keep the yet on the tip of your tongue yota boy. :D I have a feeling you are going to be sick of Hendrick before this season is over.

JJ will get 1 win to make the Chase. His CC is still on his honeymoon. :D

Did the Wood Brothers move to Japan?
They might have well have, they have Maynard

It's easy. One's a beatnick that went on to get stranded on a deserted island. The other is an heir to a multi-billion dollar fortune. :)

that probably owns an island. I think Aunty needs to be assimilated into the "We Are the Penske" fold like his driver was. It was fun while it lasted. Watching Menard drive around with one hand on the wheel spitting dollars out of the tailpipe isn't my idea of fun.

Shown* :p

Like I said I'm not saying he can't do it.. but we're talking about someone who has never won a race.. and ppl are assuming he'll get more wins than a 7 time champion who has won 83 races. He could.. I just doubt he will.. and I'm definitely not about to ASSUME he should.

I wonder what HIS expectations are?

I expect they’re somewhat more modest than those of some of his legions.

Sorry about the error, typing while someone else was talking to me. As for getting more wins than Johnson, maybe. Other than than the last ten races of 2016, the 24 basically outperformed the 48 with the exception to the weeks the 48 actually won for two seasons, so it wouldn't seem like THAT much of a stretch for Chase to get better numbers than Jimmie. Maybe they BOTH win a lot.

True, or neither lol.. I duno I just look at them both and can't help but think JJ will do better.. Chase can.. but it's a clean slate. JJ could just as easily go win 8-10 races while Chase gets none.

Like I said I'm not saying he CANT go win 4 races but to assume he SHOULD is a bit of a stretch in my opinion.

Honestly I just hope Logano and his Penske teammates outperform them both :D lol but I'd be lying if I said I'm not worried about the Ford camp with the Toyotas having what they did and the new Chevy coming.. but if they are behind it won't stay that way too long the Captain is too competitive for that.

Kind of reminds you of the expectations of Joey when he entered as sliced bread. :D

Except Chase isn't a rookie like Sliced Bread was. He Has two years of experience running in the top quarter of the field every week. In fact, if you compare their first two seasons, Chase's numbers blow Joey's away by a wide margin. I wouldn't have had such high expectations of Chase two years ago. But now I DO.
