how many wins for the hendrick group?

they are getting the car better, Johnson has gone from 20th to 14th in points in the last 3 races. Finishes of 3rd, 6th and 12th, 7.0 avg fin.

Was also a top 5-8 car on the watch at Texas through out race. Ran up front at Talladega.

Speedwise, big improvements from last fall.

I think Chevy is about where I expected with the change in body style. They will be in the win column by the end of the regular season. They may not be heavy favorites in the chase but that will because of so many rookies.

Well...it's July, and still haven't even sniffed victory lane :(

I truly am shocked. Is this organizational? ....Meaning that the way Chevy does business is different from that of Ford and Toyota?

I really don't know. Whatever the problem is, they need to get it figured out. I am confident they will get it turned around but hopefully sooner rather than later. I really hope it doesn't take until 2019 to get back on track, but at this point it wouldn't shock me.

I agree with you 100%. I really didn't think the year would go like this for them.

me neither. The last couple of qualifying sessions 3 out of 4 Hendrick cars are in the top 12 so they have decent speed IMO. Can't hold it for the races though

Did Jimmie lose his edge? Or is he just in a slump? Other Hendrick drivers are getting decent finishes but not close enough the organization was when they became the powerhouse they were the past decade. Looks as if Stewart/Haas Racing has taken over that top spot. Racing teams holding top dog in the series seems to run in cycles so don't be sad Hendrick fans, they will win and soon. Maybe just not as often as they used to.

Shocked HMS have zero wins and we are back at “Daytona to start the second half” of the season. Jimmie has been running a bit better the last few weeks, Bowman has been consistently a decent finisher and actually I would say he’s been having a hell of a season. Byron is a rookie, still learning these tracks and cars. But man I’m getting worried about Chase, seems like they start each weekend with some speed and their adjustments in race shoot them selves in the foot. What’s going on with that 9 team?

His average finish is actually higher than it was at this point last year believe it or not. I didn't realize this until prior to the Sonoma race. Before Sunday I believe he had 8 straight top 12 finishes. He's the only one of the 4 that's shown that consistency. I'd say be patient, he'll be in the mix come playoff time - that team has ramped it up the last 4 years dating back to Gordon when those final 10 races start.

Johnson, Elliott, and Bowman in that order are at the bottom of the playoff cut off at this point in the season. Unless something changes, getting out of the first round for any of them will be a challenge. Elliott said Hendrick had a little something for Chicagoland. eh, Bowman tenth was their best effort, I didn't see any of them being that racey. I thought Byron would be doing better than he is. He isn't making many mistakes, but he is slow, one top ten is it.

So hard to tell though.....TRD brought something as well, and finished really well obviously, but WE spent most of our day around the top 10 with the exception of the 78. I was concerned all weekend until the very end. I do think that this is a fascinating story from the perspective of someone who is manufacturer based in terms of interest in the sport. One or two wins in a year for a manufacturer is not unheard of---2014 comes to mind for me. Chevy fans won't go anywhere. Love the respect that they have for their brand. Ford as well. So cool to see huge haulers dedicated to their swag. Toyota, by comparison, has a little trailer--although their activation is pretty sound.

Chase ran well inside the top 10 for all but that last leg of the race. He was better than his finish suggested. Whether or not that speaks to whatever they supposedly brought, idk, but he held his own at a 1.5 most of the day which isn't something they've done really all year.

I think Stwart-Haas has stolen Hendrick's mojo.

I don't think it explains it all, but I DO think there was a fairly serious talent drain that took place during the Hendrick-Stewart Haas partnership. When you consider that Hendrick helped JGR get off the ground, and helped build Stewart Haas into a powerhouse, Rick has developed his own competition. Sadly right now the competition is MUCH better.

which leads me into the thought that I would love to see Ganassi ally with SHR, but would SHR want that kind of competition? I wonder about that. SHR started immediately taking wins and top 5's away from Hendrick when they partnered up.

Should have just gone with "how many wins for the Chevy group?"
