He said its vurry vurry turrible.

I understand the "buy American" consumer thought process. Although I dont understand why people would still buy an inferior product simply because its "American". I much prefer to purchase the best quality product at that time for the most affordable price - no matter the brand.

So yall dont get it twisted, Im not implying American made products are inferior. Although theres no way I'd purchase a '08-'12 model Chevy.

Could Dodge be on the track by next season? I thought they'd have to test aero and engine specs
"Is the debut of a new automaker in Cup imminent?

It would seem unlikely given the lead time required and the approvals needed by NASCAR. As a guest on this week’s NASCAR on NBC podcast (Wednesday’s episode will focus on the 2018 Camry), Toyota Racing Development president David Wilson said the NASCAR OEM council, which meets quarterly, regularly discusses the sport’s next manufacturer.

But Wilson, who would “love another manufacturer to join the sport,” said it would likely be 2019 at the earliest that it could be possible."

“There are requirements and things to do to get your car approved that suggest it’s not on the doorstep,” Wilson said at Daytona for the upcoming episode of the podcast. “I don’t think we’ll be seeing any 2018 announcements.”

A new manufacturer in 2018 would require submission of a completed car before October 1, 2016.

Well, I think NASCAR needs a shake-up to attract new interest. How about something American made and front line technology? Tesla. Let the Model S run with the big dogs and see where the chips fall.

Huh? Wait, the men in the white coats are pounding on my door...

RCR going to Dodge and taking their affiliates would ve the best option as far as new manufacturers go. Would also give Dodge a strong Xfinity program and a good crop of young drivers.

Anyone else is a thinker though. Nissan would be nice as they could run the truck series and would probably have to start there anyway.

Not sure what aggressive means but any manufacturer is fine with me. Makes me wonder if we might see factory teams at least in the lower series to get a start. I also think the Gen 7 car qhich has been a hot topic this week will have an impact on new manufacturers. Might even bring the new manufacturers with it once it debuts but I think it needs to be more like its stock counterpart from all sides. Im sure its hard though as you want drivers wanting this, manufacturers that and engineers everything.

The redesigned 2018 Dodge Charger and Challenger have been pushed back to 2020/2021 so as to concentrate on crossovers/SUVs and the new pickups from Ram and Jeep.My friends that work in Auburn Hills,Michigan have heard nothing about NASCAR,it's either the greatest secret ever or nothing to the rumors.Looking at Adam Stern's Twitter account the tv ratings for the Kentucky race continue it's slide down,I'll be happy to keep the manufacturers we have now.

A question I have for RF members is what you think the benefit/ROI for a new manufacturer to enter Nascar at this point. Would it not be better to wait and see where Nascar ends up in terms of interest and support?

Whatever it is, it's much better than Indycar and that didn't stop Chevy from re-entering the series a few years ago.

The WRX is a bad machine.

Although I dont think certain manufactures will enter unless NASCAR alters their templates. The cars now do mock the street cars but really in nose design only. The rest of the body is basically squared off and has lame decals. Crap like tailpipe decals and front grill decals is laughable in other motorsports.

Agree.

Cut out the horse-nonsense and bring back real cars - No more fake decal anything.

I love the lets stick 850 horses under the hood of a 4 door passenger car off the showroom that doesn't have decals. Get back to ol time racin..weeee haw

John Deere - a good sponsor for Danica.
Kubota - go big orange!
Husqvarna - chain-driven.
Evinrude - runing down low.

Thats not the idea.
Obviously the cars would be modified to handle the stresses of racing.

A reminder of days when NASCAR was an unenhanced bore with crummy cars and bland, drone drivers.

A John Deere show car was sittin’ with other displays outside of the track at Richmond. Someone about half drunk shouted out, “nuttin’ runs like a Deere…………….. with a CAT on its ass!!!”

It was followed with a polite round of laughter from the assembled crowd.

Yeah, IDK how anyone could have inferred that people wanted racing engines put in showroom stock cars and put on track to race. .
It's hyperbole. Used here all the time
Awareness is good. Be aware that this race series won't be "going back" to anything resembling a "stock" car anytime soon.

It's hyperbole. Used here all the time and quite often by the two of you.

I believe some of them know that and that is why the do what they do. Put it in stone..and they can't stand it.

No -- I object to posters being called names. Suggesting that a member is a "simpleton" for having an opinion is
wrong.
LOL k

Its fine and dandy when an opinion is mocked and oversimplified for effect.

But when they are called out for it, THEN thats "wrong".

You just keep on keepin on.

Someone mocking an opinion could be construed as rude, yes.
But, no names were called, and no slurs were mentioned about intelligence.
Don't call a poster a name.
Dispute the post, not the poster.

yes more discontinued metamorphics. Look, there is an ElCamino in the back ground :p I didn't know they discontinued the Ridgeline, but then they brought it back..what were they thinking :D They are the automotive Mullet..car in the front and truck in the back.

Realistically, half of the people I know that own trucks,a Ridgeline would work perfect for.I have a brother in law with a 2016 Silverado Z71 with the big tires that has never seen dirt.

The new Ridgeline at least looks a little better than the 2006-2014 monstrosity, but it's really just the front two-thirds of a Honda Pilot with a small pickup bed attached to the back. I guess you'd call it a "crossover pickup".

For sure as in my area the biggest challenges four wheel drive vehicles face are the speed bumps at the grocery store. I could get by with not having a 4WD vehicle but it really enhances my ability to do the things that I like to do. When I am taking pictures I often get into spots where the ground is marshy and you would just sit and spin with a 2WD and we have a lot of drifting snow in the winter so it is fun to go out in it and also enables me to have more freedom.

I've caught a little hell for my Frontier only having a 5-foot bed on it, but it's been all I have needed so far. I do have an extender to make it 1-1/2 feet longer if need be. I road trip a lot so I opted for the cab space instead of the bed space.

Some folks still think that if you can't fit a 4x8 sheet of plywood in between the wheel wells of your truck with the bed closed you are not driving a truck. IDK how long the bed on my truck is but I would guess about 6 to 6.5 feet which is all I need as the passenger cargo area is more important to me too. Have you got 15,000 miles on it yet?
