You don't think he would intentionally put somebody into the wall do you????????
Still burns apparently. No, you won't ever get over it. Thank for reminding me of one of the most epic comebacks in sports history.
Don't flatter yourself too much. My comments are about NASCAR and it's idiotic means of crowning a season champion. Insert Driver X into the equation..... it's all the same.Still burns apparently. Why is it so epic? Kyle could have taken half the season off to go on an African safari and still won the title under the idiotic rules NASCAR put in place. Yes, he performed very well in the races he actually competed in, but that's not front page news. As for being one of the greatest comebacks in sports history, I'm having trouble thinking of another sport where the analogy even applies. When I think epic comeback, I think of Ernie Irvan returning to NASCAR and being a winning driver. And for the record, no, I'm not a fan of Ernie either.
na$car didnt receve the entry fee this year?So Logano is NASCAR's Chosen One, but he has an encumbered finish and isn't in the playoffs?! LOL

The problem is that Kyle wasn't on an African safari. Your analogy goes to sh!t there.
Sport is about performing with the chips are down. He did....under brutal circumstances.
You know the story about what he went through to win Sonoma? Probably not. Very few do. A handful of people on this planet with the balls to endure what he did.
I am a fan of Ernie Irvan.

I don't think anyone is debating Kyle's grit (at this time, at least). We're not pleased with a system that lets someone miss as many races as he did and still be champion, regardless of the reason he was out.The problem is that Kyle wasn't on an African safari. Your analogy goes to sh!t there.

picking the fly specks out of the pepper, he screwed up jumping the start and hit the wall in the Daytona Xfinity race. a bit of irony there.I don't think anyone is debating Kyle's grit (at this time, at least). obsession- overides common sense and reason.
brutal circumstances? given time to recover/rehab from a wreck at the very first of the season, minimum requirements are to win A race(I think?), and be in the top 30 in points. Then wins the lottery race. Comeback of the century. I'm nominating ya for the fan hall of fame.
I am kind of wanting Matt to win it all since I dont see Kurt making it out the first round at this point, so go Matt!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They were tied in points. He won by the tiebreaker of having the most wins that season.Comeback was Stewart winning 5 races in the playoffs and winning the championship by one point over Edwards.
And to think, any additional single point having been earned by CE over those final 10 races would have let Carl retire as a Cup Champion. When people say those points don't matter, like Stage Points and the like, that season more than disproves that. Points matter..... each and every time.greatest comeback in the last race for the championship also, I think he set a record for number of cars passed to win it also.

You're still using that consumer-grade retail stuff?I think some of y'all might need a refill......

Mark Martin and Jeff Burton are gone too.Anyone find it odd that Greg Biffle, Carl Edwards, and possibly Matt Kenseth are gone? What is the common thread?
And I'd LOVE to see Logano take him out.If Kenseth is still in it come Homestead, that's where I'd put my money.
That, would be an EPIC ending at Homestead. And I'd LOVE to see Logano take him out.

Bottom line is Kyle didn't run the entire season, imo, it was a ttarnished championship. Kudos to him for gutting it out, but if it wasn't for Nascars gimmicks, he never would of been champion. As for Matt, I think if he wins a championship this year he retires on topThe problem is that Kyle wasn't on an African safari. Your analogy goes to sh!t there.

I don't see anything tarnished about a championship won within the existing rules.Bottom line is Kyle didn't run the entire season, imo, it was a ttarnished championship.
