Indy 500 Race Day Thread

Did Sandi Patty just blungeon her way over the instrumentals?

Where do they get these singers at? Anyway, big race weekend and I dont usually watch indy cars with the 500 being the exception.

Yeah, like I said in the other Indy 500 thread, sounded like she just bludgeoned her way over the instrumentals and started signing before the band was at the part where you're supposed to start singing.

Damn Time Warner Cable is down AGAIN!
Apparently there are massive outages right now throughout the nation.
Time Warner Cable sucks.
It's working here in Orange, Bobby. But now I'm crossing my fingers that it keeps working.

Class opening ceremonies. This race is so huge, I can barely handle it. If I ever get to see it live I'll probably be choked up the whole damn race. The crowd alone, Wow.

I'm picking Ryan Hunter-Reay to win. Hinchcliffe is my dark horse.

You know you are a true race fan when you talk about the singers, uniforms, weather, the crowd, the crooked officials, the flyby and everything in between. I do watch an occasional indy car race here and there besides the 500 but I dont keep up with it like nascar.

How many horsepower to the cars have anyway and what kind of engines are they?

Since my birthday is May 30, the real Memorial Day, my dad told me for years that the race was held to celebrate MY birthday! I believed him for a long, long time. LOL
...

Haha :) ...I remember my Grandpa's birthday was on Christmas. His pesents would always say "Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday". I thought it was really cool but he said he lost out on a round of presents every year :D

I love the Andy Griffith show to this day and never get tired of watching it. Jim Nabors is one of the few still alive.

I was afraid we'd seen the last of Jim Nabors...great he's back and he can still sing :)

Can't believe they still prop up that old hag to give the command.

Turbo Charged, Honda and Chevy V-6, 700hp

Well...kinda rude but :D:XXROFL::D

Heh heh, I'm no fan of the Hulman-George family. But, we'll leave that conversation for another day. Today is a day to enjoy the race! Not to bull**** about open-wheel politics.

All set to watch the the start. I'm sure they'll bring all 11 rows down side by side. :D

What displacement and how many gears? 6? Sorry for all the questions but I dont watch much of this.

Carpenter just flatspotted the tires trying to avoid a plastic bag.

Well that's it for Hildebrand...at least he didn't wait till the last turn this time :(

My dad had bad hearing, he honestly thought her name was Salmon Paddy or he delivered the punch line well.

Carpenter going to run out of gas or wreck trying to lead every lap. It's a long race, dude.

No pit stops in the Indy Lights series, so should be fun to see Munoz try his first pit stop at the biggest race ever.

If I had won that huge lottery - I would have sponsored a car and had them paint it like a Ladybug...just seems to fit the new-ish shape. (from the front)

OH NO!! A.J. with an Issue ?....I don't suppose you can switch gears in the middle of the race can you?

On the one hand, I wouldn't mind seeng the Andretti jinx end, but on the other had, Marco's a dick.

I wonder if the person who does the little squirt of water after they pull the fuel hose ever squirts the driver....it would be funny ;)

Brad K in the house. Looks dapper in his suit!

"Hopefully I'll make it back in time for the race tonight."

Lol, hopefully, Brad.
