Interest builds around possible changes to NASCAR schedule

At some point I was kicked out of the fan council for some reason and haven't been able to get back in. Odd considering I'm right in their main target age group.
 
As a Fan Coucil member, it is a complete joke

Yeah. NASCAR brass is funny. They should have Tony Stewart running the show.

Get on the Fan Council and demand more horsepower and less “side by side” racing.

Last I checked the interstate has plenty of that.

Yep the guy who's series dqed half the teams in a race I was at because they stood in the wrong place, claimed it was said in the drivers meeting and video showed it wasn't

Perhaps the World Racing Group should take over NASCAR.

World of Outlaws, Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt, Super DiRT Car, and other dirt series are much better than NASCAR. But overall I agree.

I like my races longer, with pit stops, on-the-fly adjustments for changing conditions, and drivers having to manage tires over a run and brakes throughout the race. I can enjoy local Saturday nights on pavement, but I've just never developed a feel for dirt racing. I don't get much opportunity to see it.

I feel like NASCAR has monopolized their product a bit there…….

Also sidenote Tony has an ego and all that, but people can’t deny the pull he brings to a lot of people. The SRX car seems like a COT car.

I wish IndyCar ran a few longer races, more stuff in the 300 to 400 mile range. IMSA has their four endurance events; I wish NASCAR had at least one timed race, maybe six hours on a track that wouldn't run up the tire bill too much.

I can't watch drag racing. My attention span is too short, although it does have more passing than F1. :p

Yeah. I wish they did a 300-400 mile oval race. Nashville Superspeedway, Richmond, New Hampshire seem like good tracks for that.

Not a fan of timed NASCAR races, but maybe it would be cool if they did that for the Clash at Daytona RC? Lol.

NHRA Drag racing is like hockey, great product in person, but on TV I think it can be boring unless you have a team. In my opinion…. I try to watch NHRA when I can. More passing than F1 for sure.

I loved drag racing when I was a kid but the cars were much more innovative and unique back then. Now they're all cookie cutter. I realize NASCAR, IndyCar and other series are mostly like that now too but the racing is much more interesting than drag racing.

The Eastern States 200 and Super Dirt Week for the big block modifieds are almost like dirt NASCAR races. They’re both 200 laps on 5/8 mile dirt tracks. Live pit stops. Strategy with fuel and tires. Adjusting to quickly changing track conditions. I think you’d enjoy watching both of them if you got a chance.

Agreed! NASCAR has 36 shows a year and 3 exhibition type races, not everyone is going to be a barn burner.

I will say though that this year made it evident that a new car design is needed. The lack of natural cautions and mechanical failures was telling, these things at the moment are just damn near perfect.

Super Dirt Week is on Dirtvision every year. I believe Dirtvision is $39 a month. But you also get every other Super Dirtcar Series race as well as WoO sprints and late models and some weekly tracks as well.
Eastern States 200 is usually broadcast every year on Orange County Fair Speedway’s website. They are both run in October so you’ll have to wait a full year to see a new edition of the event.

Port Royal had a 200 lap big block race this year too, it was on Floracing
 
With SMIs history it makes me terrified for my home tracks future

North Wilkesboro as a dirt track, a Chicago street course, and some sort of race in the Denver area are all on my BINGO card.

North Wilkesboro dirt/asphalt, Soldier Field( there is history there like the LA Coliseum), Denver Street Course sounds better to me. Pikes Peak needs a lot of help.

I have a feeling this LA Coliseum deal is gonna become a little more permanent than expected. Especially if ACS doesn’t get reconfigured and simply gets upstaged.

The old Denver GP configuration, if it’s still viable, doesn’t look half bad. Looks like the corners weren’t as narrow as other street courses.

Disagree. They had some EXCELLENT races throughout the years with the old configuration(s), but it just wasn't consistently good and this new configuration is downright awful for racing
 
Losing Dover would be soul crushing for me. Have lived and grown up a hour away; it is easily the track I’ve been to the most plus I went to college for 4 years in Dover so Dover has been a huge part of my life in numerous different ways. Losing the fall race sucked but I knew why it happened and I saw it coming. Losing the spring race is almost unthinkable for me and takes away the one track within 2 hours for me.
The Casino honestly could be the only thing to save Dover because I’m still convinced the only reason Kansas has two dates is cause of the Casino
 
Interesting to see what happens to Dover. Used to be an awesome place until modern engineering killed it. Arguably the most boring track on the circuit right now, cars are too aero and contact sensitive, doesn’t bode well for a 1 mile high banked monster.

I’ve seen F1 tracks easier to pass on then Dover
