That's just good solid race execution. Reminds me of the 48. Seems like when Joey does have the car to beat, he will run away with it. He may win 8 races this year.

We'll see. Penske started off strong last year also and couldn't hold it later in the season. Not trying to snake bite them, but it's a real dog fight this year.

That's very true!

eh, some it seems their intent is to blow the back tires off, in Logano's case IMO it is more of an art form or a contest of skill. And he parked it dead center on the finish line

My point was exactly how artfully and skillfully he pulled it off while traveling at speed (relative to the usual celebrations) down the track.

I am not as convinced that all the other drivers capable of winning would be as successful as they are willing to try.

Dude is great a burnouts. Great driver as well. He is usually clutch when it comes to finishing out a race when leading the restart.

I think a lot of this dirt racing by Nascar drivers is because of Bristol coming up. I hope Nascar keeps the cup racing going on dirt occasionally.

Yep, I think Logano has said as much, and that he wants to run a modified when they are at Bristol as well.

Congrats.

Joey drove like a champion.

Repping MY birthday. (He and I share a birthday).

Took this post from the Race day thread...

Lol, this how I became a Logano fan...long story short; I was at an ex’s family party down in VA and the highlight of the party was a night race (not sure which race TBH). Somebody asked me who my driver was and after looking at him confused I quickly looked up that he was closest to me in age. It was his rookie season so his youth had me interest, been a fan ever since. **admittedly** I didn’t become a hardcore NASCAR fan until he drove to his championshi. I haven’t missed a race since and have dived headfirst trying to learn as much about NASCAR since.

What a puss Hamlin is. His spotter or CC or whoever was basically telling him what to do. Hell, even Joey has said he’s going to rough you up for a win and has said he expects the same. I’m glad he wussed out. Going to be interesting to see how Joey reacts when it’s done to him. I hope he doesn’t turn into a hypocrite. I think he and Elliot’s issue last year may be an indication BUT that was more of a stupid move taking them both out and Joey expected ownership of it.

@SlicedBread22 saw in Joey Logano what many of us didn't see back then. That said, Logano did show flashes as a 20 year old in 2010, with 16 top 10's. That's very impressive for a guy that age.

I love this. Driver connected to manufacturer. This is what NASCAR should be about.
Agree. Wish Ford would do a better job of keeping their young hot shots. Hopefully they will with Logano, CIndic, Blaney, and Brisco. That means keeping Penske and Hass in their stables.

I think they will keep those guys. Please don't tell anybody because it will destroy the narrative, but I am a huge fan of Doug Yates. So good for the sport.

Ok, I won’t. Don’t want to tarnish your rep since you get threads dedicated to you and all…
