Causes a wreck?....you cant cause a wreck from that far back.So he causes a huge wreck no one on here would have been trashing him for it! Gotch.

No sweat Blaze...all good.Oh my goodness I think you are losing what I'm saying.
Lets say he DID try, and say he made a few holes, made a few moves and tried one more and it causes a huge pile up and he gets in it. He would still get trashed and you know it. If you don't understand now, I can't help you.
No sweat Blaze...all good.
Where yeah I wish he might have raced a bit, with how everyone was three wide he'd have to make a stupid to even get to the front, and even at that point he'd get hate for that. At least he was honest, would you rather him say that he tried but couldn't get anywhere?
I am not being a smart ass when I say, "Hell, yes, lie like a son of a bitch, and tell me you gave it your all." Seriously, what has he achieved by being "honest"?
I dont blame Junior for laying back, I am glad Kyle didnt though, I dont expect stuff like that from Kyle
Rather a driver be honest than lie. If he gets a fine or penalty from it, well possibly deserved as he didn't give 100% but if not, maybe NASCAR sees it as a safety move.
We can agree to disagree on it, because we can discuss it all we want, but will either of us really change each others mind?
No, but do understand that I respect your position. I really do. As a fan of this sport, I respect Junior and all he means to NASCAR. Appreciate your perspective and conviction.
He COASTED AROUND...If you think thats cool, then we disagree about the definition of racing.
Well I saw it.Do you have any definitive proof that he just coasted around?
Well I saw it.
Nowhere to go? I don't understand what that means.Do you have the telemetry data from Jr's car? The guy said that there was nowhere to go, and others are right he's not Sr., he's not going to push the issue. Hel I wouldn't have pushed it if I was him.
He should probably just hang up his driving gloves. The guy obviously doesn't care anymore. Not enough to be behind the wheel anyway. I have to wonder if Nationwide is second guessing their decision to sponsor him over the next three years. I can't believe that they'd want to even associate themselves with him.

Maybe he should have just parked it then.
I know exactly what you mean.He should probably just hang up his driving gloves. The guy obviously doesn't care anymore. Not enough to be behind the wheel anyway. All good.Sarcasm I hope?
Now you're just being silly.
I think Nascar should put him in the stocks so we can all throw tomatoes at him.....til he realizes he has to push the pedal to the metal or get TFOThe more I think about this I don't know that his public apology to his fans was enough. I think they should make a spectacle of him by having him make another apology, live on the FOX pre-race, to his fans during driver introductions and then immediatly slap him with a P1 rules infraction for not giving 100% under the most recent racing requirements. Then, NASCAR needs to get its rule book pencil out and write up a new rule that places him in the rear of the field for the start of all of the remaining races for his lack of effort. That'll teach him what it means to ride around at the rear of the field.

I am actually a fan of his, I just didn't like what I saw on sunday. If you did ....cool.I guess we are all going to look at this differently.
Like each and every week that I'm home to watch a live race, I tune into Jr's scanner feed. Good strategy gone bad was his downfall. Early on in the race he and Letarte learned that they didn't have a car that ran well in the pack. They decided to take on two tires during one of their pit stops to gain positions on pit road. The strategy worked and they were then running up front. Once there he was able to stay there. Late in the race they calculated that they didn't have the fuel to make it to the end with a GWC. History shows many cautions in the latter stages of the racing at Talladega. They played the numbers. They opted to pit for fuel when others didn't. This dropped him well back in the field. They learned quickly again that they were unable to make the charge up through the field. Their predictions of late cautions came true a couple times. He wasn't making it to the front again and really, that's what is important. No chance to win. The points don't matter for him with the win. No need to lose a good car. I think they got out of there just fine. 16th or 26th. What does that really mean @ Talladega. In Jr's own words..... It don't mean sh!t.
People need to get over it and move on. Especially the non Jr. fans that seem obsessed over this.
He used to drive for Junior Johnson, right?"You play...to win..the game. You play to win the game!"--Herm Edwards
I also listened to him on raceview for the last third of the race and I agree with you. He tried and couldn't get any further toward the front and in my opinion made a wise choice. Smart move.I guess we are all going to look at this differently.

After Daytona they impounded his race wining car for display, like all of the more recent Daytona winners. The car he was driving this past Sunday was a brand new car designed to the same specs as that Daytona car. They wanted to use that car for their restrictor plate program this season if possible. If you were listening you also heard this mentioned a few times during those late race cautions. At this point in the season with him having a win the only thing that matters are more wins. 6th, 16th or 26th are basically all the same as far as the results go. 1st is the only thing that matters. He got out of there intact. Hopefully that car will produce the same results this July @ Daytona as the similar car did in February.I also listened to him on raceview for the last third of the race and I agree with you. Yep. That's exactly what I heard. If it was impossible for him to win then save the car if at all possible for the other restrictor plate races. After Daytona they impounded his race wining car for display, like all of the more recent Daytona winners. Its a RACEcar. Its not right that a racer drives to save a car for another race. After Daytona they impounded his race wining car for display, like all of the more recent Daytona winners. Action against Earnhardt Jr?This is BS...he didn't give it 100 % and needs action from nascar.
He obviously did not give it 100 percent and needs to be fined. If he doesn't want to race get out of the carI don't have a problem with what Junior did on Sunday, it's just a product of this dumbass Chase format we have in place now. Junior was just using it to his advantage.
Wait, I thought his excuse for not going for it was risking another concussion. Now it's risking destroying a car. After Daytona they impounded his race wining car for display, like all of the more recent Daytona winners. Somebody should've told Keseloswki to ignore the 100% rule too.He obviously did not give it 100 percent and needs to be fined. If he doesn't want to race get out of the car
