Kansas - Hollywood Casino 400 - Pre Race Thread

I'm telling you its gonna be the 5 in Victorykahne this week

Harvick was on track to win in the spring before the #24 team undercut the #4 group during the final pit cycle.

I dont understand that like dabiff gave you. He was sort of discrediting Gordon because Harvick had "his weekly bad luck" and that's why he won it then when replying to chex and agreed with yours. :idunno:

Gordon beat him fair and square.

Why a two tire stop will win Kansas!

This weekends race in Kansas is the start of the Contender round and its also a track where you can expect to see multiple pit strategies. Tires don’t wear at Kansas like they do at other tracks. You can run much longer on these tires and that allows teams to strategies on what they want to do and how they can get track position. Last year during the April Kansas race, the #20 car won on only one four tire stop. I expect to see teams gambling on tires and gas because track position is a premium.

So how does this effect the pit crews, its pretty simple. The team that can do the best two tire stop as well as two tire two can stop, could be the team that benefits the most. The best part about this race is how many different ways there are to do the same kind of stop. Crew chiefs are going to be making last minute calls to make sure they don’t left behind on track position and that’s going to cause some trouble at some point. If there is one thing that drives pit crew members crazy it’s getting an adjustment call when the car is 3 stalls away. Look for a mess up somewhere on pit road when it comes to tires, two or four.

Dang, glad nothing was going on under the stage. That could have been real bad.

Lol he only beat him because of pitstops. :idunno: No need for the typical gordon fan butt hurt I said he'd be running 2nd

Except for the fact that in that race with 45 to go Gordon was 3.5 seconds behind Harvick, but when he pitted with 30 laps to go the lead was at 1.2 seconds and closing.

Sure pits stops helped, but Gordon was faster for most of the final 50ish laps which wasn't surprising because he has had the best long run car at most tracks this year.

Okay, Danica ran really well here in May and this place has the tendencies of being a long-run, potentially a fuel strategy race.

And the line is 300-1 on Danica.

I threw a buck on that.

I would tuck a buck on that as well...

No kidding!

I have the race and I just watched the final segment to make sure. Gordon pitted a lap earlier than Harvick, for one and he was running his fastest laps of the race. DW even mentioned it.

Second, Harvick's pit stop was actually slightly better than Gordon's.

Gordon was just faster right up until 4 or 3 laps to go in which it was already too late for Harvick to catch him.

But you know, anything to discredit Gordon of anything positive he does.

Yeah, look at that pit crew blow...again.

Oh wait, you mean they did everything better across the board than the 24? How is that possible?
