Kyle Larson

Dale Jr, Larson, Elliot, and Johnson in 5 years.
Larson, Elliot, Regan Smith and a revolving door spot in another 5. I'd love to see Keselowski in a HMS car one day

So you are saying Regan Smith will have to wait at least 5 to 6 years before he gets called up to HMS? I just don't see it. No way Regan sticks around NNS for that long with JRM. Plus he'd already be on the upper side of 35. Why waste a spot on him when there will be other newer, better, more talented blood coming up. I think Regan sticks around NNS for the rest of his career sadly, probably leaving JRM in a few years. Maybe get another lower tier cup ride in a year or two.

It's hard to say about Kahne....He's probably one of the most hot and cold driver I've ever seen. I think Rick gives him this season and next to make a decision.

He's very inconsistent to say the least. I think Chase Elliott will take over when Jeff exits, but I don't see Hendrick letting Kasey go. Who's he gonna get? Larson is a great driver, but he's gonna need time, plus he's got a contract with Ganassi which I'm sure is at least 3-5 years. As far as Regan Smith, I don't see him making it to Hendrick Motorsports. People talk about Austin Dillon winning the NNS Championship with no wins and 9 regular drivers.....well Smith was one of those 9. Don't get me wrong, I like him and I think he's good but not one to give Kasey Kahne the boot for.

I agree with you on Smith. People act like he is some overly talented driver just waiting to break out and have a stellar career. Is he talented than a lot of guys in Cup? Yes of course, he could even win in Cup right now if in a competitive car. However, there isn't a competitive ride for him, and even if there was I don't see him winning a Cup championship. He will probably win NNS this year be default, but even then I could see Chase Elliot stealing it from him.

Regan is a good driver and would be excellent in HMS equipment ....unfortunately he's not a sponsors dream and not fit the HMS image

The ganessi car is better then Andy gives them credit.. and The RCR team is worse. I'd say their more even now in talent and equipment with Hendrick power under the ganessi hood. I'd say RCR has better resources.

That doesn't mean Larson is likely to win but in qualifying speed, They've shown alot more the last two years then years past.

Hendrick did a lot to get Kahne into the 5 (found him a ride for a year until the 5 became available). I expect he will be more consistent this year.

The Ganassi cars are getting better. Last year Montoya was in position to win a couple times. Jamie had a solid day yesterday and both cars qualified well. But the teams still need something to click.

Since the last post, Larson has scored his first career Nationwide Series victory at Fontana, as well as turning in a top 10 run at Bristol (a race he could have very well won; the only better one out there was Kenseth). Can people really still doubt that Larson is the "next big thing"?

I think Larson has a lot of talent and also has as much of a chance of becoming a superstar of auto racing as anyone that has ever driven a stock car. He is polite, humble, personable. He's great for the sport and he's a breath of fresh air. Chase Elliott also shows great potential.

Just to be clear where I stand concerning Larson...I was wearing a black #32 Larson shirt at the coke 600 last year.
I guess what I'm saying is I've been rooting for him for awhile now.
The end!

And he has attitude. I loved his quotes yesterday. "I'm just as aggressive as Kyle and Kevin". nascar all had talked to him about the no-wheel burnout after he had done it in a truck. "I just won my first NW race. I'll do whatever I want". lol

I've been hearing hype on Larson so I've been kinda following him. He seems to be a solid rookie of the year contender. I was really impressed with the final laps in the NW race yesterday (and second to Busch the week before). A new driver challenging the old guard - something to watch this year.

I watched some good drivers throw almost everything they had today at him, to try to get him to crack, but he didn't. It's only one race, and there is a lot more stuff that will be coming at him, but I would say he did well in his first real test.
I agree somewhat... this wasn't his first test. Impressive run though.

Never said he's not. Just not as good as some people around here try to make it seem.

As you're more than well aware of, a lot of people feel the same way about your guy so I think you may have to suck this one up, Slice.

Yeah I know... but its Joey that could be my main example of someone who showed promise and didn't perform... and he did better than Larson in less time. That's why until I see him do it I don't buy it. Yesterday was impressive.. I never said it wasn't.. but I just don't think it proves anything.

I think u guys are taking it wrong.. I like him and believe he will do good.. but for me its too early to say for sure. He still has a lot to prove.

Fair enough.

My roommate is like a huge Larson fan.. I like Larson and think he's a future champion but my roommate who is usually low key went insane when Larson won haha..I was like calm down man, its only nationwide.

But Larson will win rookie of the year and he will win some cup races sooner than ppl think.

2 this year.

Well we have found the hipster Kyle Larson fan.
Perhaps you have the definition of "hipster" backwards. Hipster means one who follows the latest trend, but considering I was in the nascar Capitol I did not see one other person wearing a Larson shirt, just me!

LOL, look around Larson is the latest trend. Also hipsters are usually the first to say they knew about someone/something before it was cool.

Lol...fair enough, but in this case I had a hunch and I really liked his attitude before I realized the extent of his talent.

Great race by the 21 year old. Another short track next week, he might shock us all again

I know it's only the first race....but did they bring this kid up too fast?......See Joey for example
Yep, over his head and trying too hard, but this sport now requires instant results or you'll be looking for work. Unless you have a big sponsor you bring to the party.

What hath ye to sayeth now?

Good to see Larson showing Austin Dillon what a real driver looks like. Larson and Eilliott are the first young drivers I've been excited about since Kurt Busch started out back in the dizay.

Gotta admit, it was an impressive finish today by Larson. Had it not been Kyle Busch in the car ahead of him, who knows, he may have gotten him...
