315,000 weekend attendance?
They must be counting all the people they kicked out.315,000 weekend attendance?
Honestly, Wally Dallenbach and Kyle Petty were the only ones in a long time who would call NASCAR out that bluntly.I do appreciate the announcers calling out the Verstappen penalty, you don’t often see that on NASCAR coverage.

Penalty might still hurt. The 5-second penalty is the only penalty allowed in the regulations I guess. I think I may have seen something other than that once in the last few seasons. Gutless.

Very true. Ferrari have had great speed all weekend. Probably their best performance through qualifying all season I’d say.Penalty might still hurt.
Verstappen only pulled out to that lead because of restart shenanigans.
NASCAR’s TV partners have talent who have financial interests on the track.NASCAR's TV partners view themselves as so invested that the talent is coached to essentially operate as PR reps. The British approach to this stuff is a lot different. They sell the pageantry of it all, but keep arm's length from the sanctioning body.
Which is precisely why NASCAR needs to take their TV production in house for 2025Say what you will about the race but this coverage is better than what we get from FOX and NBC. We’re getting shots of battles throughout the field. If this were produced by NASCAR folks, we’d have a close shot of Verstappen right now.

It's nice to see Max being so outspoken.
During the peak of my NASCAR fandom I always defended the "they're just driving in circles" notion. Then came the 550 package.1 I was joking get your panties out of a knot. 2 ovals are just as if not more technical than a road course. Multiple lines, actual traffic, constant g forces. I watch plenty beyond NASCAR I've tried multiple times to like F1 there is nothing entertaining about an engineering competition to me.
If it wasn't for that shot I couldn't tell the race is in Vegas. Just looks like a generic street course.Earlier we were talking about the TV camera angles. This is more like what I was expecting from Vegas:
Only did away with them like 5 years ago. The 5 second penalty is OK for what Max did but spinning someone out should lead to a Drive-through.F1 would do well to implement pass through penalties.
It’s not like he’s happy to be here anyway. Not Max’s finest hour here tonight.
