Las Vegas RACE thread

Same thing happened to Gordon last year at Texas as to what just happened to Harvick, I believe.

I don't completely understand the mechanics of it all but could the CC on the #4 have something done to give it the extra speed and in turn led to a failure?

Not sure. I don't recall seeing him at any point today.
They showed him for a little while. I want to say he was somewhere around 9th. It may have been when they were cycling through pit stops or something. I dunno.

He's back in 18th now.

Others are more gearhead-y than me, but I would say no.

Wonder if Jeff tries to stretch it. Pitted with 58 to go if I did my math right he went 54 on that run.

How bad is it for SHR today? Patrick is the best at 23rd. Kurt barely in the top 30, Stewart 34th and Harvick out.

With the points system, if you even have any sort of chance.....why not go for it? 24 lost a lot of time by staying out (or Jeff is getting in and off extremely conservatively).

Well nevermind no longer have to worry about that with the yellow.

No tires again........
Maybe they should've stayed out like the 88.....it's really hard to do anything from 9th place. You gotta take chances with this new points system. Staying out so long to pit did nothing but lose the 24 two spots on pit road.

It's the little things the 24 needs to improve upon.....

I hope NASCAR at least put a bow and some nice wrapping paper on this win before giving it to Dale Jr.
88 has had a good car all day and Letarte made a good call.....no reason not to risk it a bit.

Typical 24 day. Be solid 90% of the race and then **** the bed for the last 50 laps.

Here comes the ****** massive drop down the leaderboard for the 24....too funny.
