probably need to study the two different packages they have for next year. your right this isn't about air pressure in the ball. The NHL went to 3 on 3 for the all star game and it made it more more fun and exciting than usual for a year. Doesnt mean 3 on 3 is now the way the game should be played.
I know, stick and ball comparisons are frowned upon here, but all star events across the board are supposed to be fun exhibitions and often suck. Just because an all star format succeeds in being more interesting than usual doesnt mean the whole season should be run like an all star event...
Look at the NFL's Pro Bowl. The most successful sports league in the country and they can't even get everyone chosen for their All-Star game to show up. As opposed to NASCAR's 'All Star' race which features ... the same guys who race against each other every other week.I know, stick and ball comparisons are frowned upon here, but all star events across the board are supposed to be fun exhibitions and often suck.

We have already acknowledged the knee jerk reaction regarding the All Star Race. All those people are quiet now. Go figure.
Of course NASCAR made up it's mind way before the all star race, it was made up before Daytona.I guess NASCAR made up their minds even before using the package during all-star weekend. I really don't want to say anything, but this is kind of troubling. I'm all about positivity, but I'm starting to like this package less and less.
Probably because they are getting what they like. About all that is left are the ones that have a problem with it.We have already acknowledged the knee jerk reaction regarding the All Star Race. All those people are quiet now. Go figure.

nope. People who like the package and the majority of fans are using a wait and see result until they see the racing. The nego articles are good click bait, none of them have seen a race with the new packages either.
Every authority in racing is condemning this package. It is not some blind opinion. We all saw the ASR. Alot of us are passionate race fans, so we sort of know what to expect based on what we have seen through the years in various forms of motorsports. The more tests that are done and the more that people talk, the more the opinion that this is going to be terrible for racing is validated.
Here is the thing:
If this produces quasi-pack racing at wide-open throttle and there are 25 winners next year, some will love it and think it's a success. I will hate it, call it a failure. Nothing will change.
First, almost every authority who ever they think they are are doing nothing but trying to get clicks. Most negative articles written by seat sitters are pandering to a vocal few who are just positive they know something is going to happen a certain way. Problem is none have seen anything about the new package to form an opinion unless it is a couple of three tire tests with mule cars running laps.
Authors running stories for sure, but they are quoting people that matter who don't give a sh!t about clicks.
It's a reach to discredit naysayers because the internet is ******.
Quit reading other peoples opinions about a race car that has never raced. Go to a track and enjoy the atmosphere or stay home, be comfortable and enjoy what you are seeing. Let your brain be it's own information center. Shut off the sound so your not influenced by a program that has been determined before the race.I guess NASCAR made up their minds even before using the package during all-star weekend. In all of NASCAR history since the late 60's, there have been street machines with more HP than the cars on track. HP is only a straight run advantage, it is the rest of the car that makes the HP usefull and the driver who controls all of it.this rule package next year will be terrible.. every mile 1/2 track will be based off ego getting the best slingshots and runs at the right time is just dumb.. it really won’t be about the drivers next year at all .. you better just throw that out the window.. reducing horse power to cars having less horsepower than a lot of street cars is just really dumb smh.. I thought these cars was suppose to be MONSTERS!! Now my 392 Charger I’m about to get has just as much horsepower as a damn stock car. Just ridiculous. Watching them practice for the all star race on tv was like watching cars go in slow motion lol.. and even when I attended the actual all star race cars looked slower and they wasn’t as loud . I didn’t even need my headset. I think I might just be done watching.
lol stop it.. you know what I mean.. I’m sad guysIf you want loud earth shaking hp then you are definitely watching the wrong racing series.
But but, it is an excuse. And it sure is dramatic. Why I am going to quit watching..and then one of them will say, yeah like the thousands that have, and then another will say, it's just another gimmick, and sooner or later they will get around to the playoff system, after how slow the cars will be, pack racing, and everybody in the whole wide world is against this package..and meanwhile, next year, they will be watching the Daytona 500. getting their last bitches in about the last plate race, dreading the next race at Atlanta when the new package arrives. on and on.In all of NASCAR history since the late 60's, there have been street machines with more HP than the cars on track. HP is only a straight run advantage, it is the rest of the car that makes the HP usefull and the driver who controls all of it.

This right here. Excellent post. I am excited to see what happens with the package. Something new to engineer. It's going to be fun. It always is.
It's entertainment. People have different tastes. No big deal. I'll even give F1 fans a pass.I think the entire premise behind the 2019 rules changes is an abomination but I would never think of someone as being smart or dumb for liking it.

I have no problem with reducing horsepower, but do it with a different engine package rather than choking a 750hp engine.Amen! I don’t like the idea of reducing horsepower period but it is ok with some. Just a difference of opinion.
Isnt the 750hp engine already a choked 900hp engine that they're now choking more?I have no problem with reducing horsepower, but do it with a different engine package rather than choking a 750hp engine.

They can make 195 HP to over a thousand HP with the same block design. People who think they need a different motor don't know much about them.
no we are not.No doubt but we are just speaking of choking down engines like the govt did in 1973. It didn’t make sense then and doesn’t now.
