NASCAR killing the sport / NOT NASCAR

Some things getting all degenerated, is just about getting older.
Music aint what it used to be. Them Hick Hop country singers just need the **** beat out of them. That would be compassion cause the miserable lot needs a hard loving slap to save them from them from their own sorry existence.

Baseball aint what it used to be.
Pass happy Football ain't what it used to be, back when the running back was the man, was what it was all about.
Damn the designated hitter again, too.

Movies aint what they used to be. Time was that a man could cuddle up all nakey in his blankie with dignity, and cry his eyeballs out over a Brad Pity movie.

Time was that a man wasn't neutered and he could back up his truck on the spot without a damn camera. Seriously a nation with men that ain't steady enough to back up a truck, is a fragile delicate one, one too delicate to figure recreational procreation. One that is well nigh past the state of aint being a worth a damn. One that deserves having to listen to the daily Kim Kardashian Kayne West dysentery diet.

The only good things left is the Kokolher a bag of Cheetos, children, dogs and younger hawt wimmins, that is all that remains.

So if Nascar wants to ruin NASCAR or NASCAR wants to ruin Nascar, I reckon they have the right.

I try to avoid looking at the masses; my stomach isn't that strong. As to compassion, my Darling Bride assures me my milk of human kindness has curdled.
Just keeping giving the milk till she sez it is good..... got to admit that while that works for me, it dont always work for her.....

The self-proclaimed "Silent Majority" is usually a vocal minority.

This day and age, negativity sells. Fans who complain about NASCAR usually rack up the likes. Cable news and sports shows are all fueling negativity all the time. And everyone has a voice. On top of that, we have a climate now that rewards negativity. I mean, the current President of the United States did nothing for years except bitch and whine on Twitter, and still does nothing but bitch and whine, and millions and millions and millions of people worship him like a god for it... because, people who bitch and whine have all the answers or something nowadays.

There's a very large part of the fanbase that will keep proclaiming that the sport died when Dale Earnhardt died, but they keep watching it. And all the negative energy does is turn other people away. I mean, let's take NASCAR out of this. We'll say me and you are talking about, I don't know, American Horror Story, and I say the show sucks while simultaneously wearing an American Horror Story shirt. Well, what incentive is there for you to watch it now?

NASCAR fans are worse than other fans in that there's a short list of conditions in which they will go to a race and a long list of conditions which they won't. They won't go to races if it's hot, or cold, or raining, or might rain, or is too sunny, or too breezy, or the weather is nice. While night racing in NASCAR consistently produces terrible racing, fans want more night races because it's not "too hot" (and because many are just there to drink gallons of beer all day).

But the fans are far from NASCAR's biggest problem. There are fans who are gonna bitch and whine no matter what. Let them bitch and whine.

Lack of fans is the biggest problem. Without the fans, the sport dies.
Very surprising comment from someone who also seems to hate NASCAR sometimes.

Lmao...yeh right:rolleyes:
You disagree?

Not sure if you mean that or if you are joking.

Please advise how to do that. I'd like to know.
As serious as a heart attack. I'm sure there are others here who agree with me.

My 2 year contract with DirecTV ended and my bill is now almost $100 per month. I have one of the lower tier packages and I don't even get any sports channels aside from ESPN. If I want a package with NBC Sports or Fox Sports my bill will be like $135 per month. I love DirecTV but I can't justify spending so much for it. I'm going to switch to Optimum soon though because they are offering a good deal. Will be half the price of DirecTV with internet included for 2 years.

I like it to, mainly the DVR but yeah it is crazy expensive and they don't reward your loyalty at all. Been with them for 4 years now and pay $177 a month. They changed my package this year without asking but I was actually ok with it as it gave me a channel I really like.

See, I'm thinking the landscape is already changing so much that, when my contract is up, they'll lower prices even more. Or I'll go to DIRECTV Now.

Playstation Vue is a game changer. Everything's moving towards streaming media. This sucks if you live in Rural America, but it's what it is.

I'm not in any way trying to sound like a no it all or saying I do .. but in the past year in a half I have learned more about the sport than 80 % of the people I have talked to lol.. ...Lol

you're a savant, not a "know(sp?) it all".

just imagine the fortune you will amass in the real world with those incredible learning skills.

where did you expect this to go?

See I'm being serious and all y'all being funny lol.

i'm not being funny. but I was hoping you were.

I don't know what the ratings for "Supergirl" are when I watch, nor do I care.

There are websites and blogs out there that make money/gain attention out of making people care about the ratings for TV shows, generally by portraying it as a race to avoid cancellation, and by giving a numerical baseline at which the decision sways between renewal and cancellation. Incidentally, the most popular of these sites (like TV By The Numbers) have become infamous for attracting the same kind of crazies who TheGeneral was describing hearing on the NASCAR call-in shows.

Listen to Sirius on the way out of the track. To us it's almost as much fun as the race. Fifty percent, I'd say, of the callers are hammered. Claire B. gives them all the time they want. Has to fill up minutes. It's well worth the subscription. Every call this week, driving out of Pocono began with "I'm no Kyle Busch fan but..." Then it was more of the "Fans boo Kyle because he wins." It was hilarious. The game needs black hats and I get it, but I think half the callers are either smashed or trolling, or both. I love it all.

Yeah, I've seen. Ratings aren't everything. Ask fans of Supergirl who don't get The CW in HD or at all about how ratings dictate whether a show stays on television. Or, even better yet, ask fans of Firefly. Those people are still pissed at Fox.

The stages have made the races even better. I think I saw something recently that said over 80% of fans support stage racing.

Then 20 percent may be unhappy .... I think I am one of them. This is not to say that some other stuff hasn't irritated me about the sport lately though.

In my 45 + years of following racing i could count the people that knew ANYTHING about ANYTHING related to racing on one hand. Minus the thumb and 3 fingers. Funny thing is i am an auto technician. You would think guys that work on cars would like/know something about racing. Nope. No interest. Guns? OH HELL YEAH! Fishing, OH YEAH!
That's exactly what I mean lol

It is going to be fan-freaking-tastic next year when there are 4-5 stages in between each dash.
