NFL 2013

Oh well, it'll be a couple good championship games next weekend. Looking forward to it.

Doesn't matter who wins this game, neither of these teams are capable of winning next week.
I wouldn't be too sure about that. Denver certainly can win next week. I'd have to say that New England is probably the favorite in that game, even in Denver, but it should be a hell of a game.

Some fun facts about the remaining teams:

-If the Broncos or Patriots go to the Super Bowl and lose, they would become the first team to lose 5 Super Bowls (Broncos lost Super Bowls 12,21,22,and 24; Patriots lost 20,31,42,and 46).

-Both the Patriots and the 49ers are making their 3rd straight appearance in their respective conference championship games.

-The only possible rematch of a previous Super Bowl is 49ers-Broncos (they also met in Super Bowl XXIV).

-If Seattle and Denver go to the Super Bowl, it would be only the 2nd time in the last 20 years that both #1 seeds made it (Saints-Colts after the '09 season being the other).

-For the first time since the '09 playoffs, both #1 seeds survived the Divisional round.

-The 49ers are the lone remaining wildcard team in the playoffs. If they beat Seattle on Sunday, history will be on their side: wildcard teams are 6-3 in the Super Bowl.

-If Seattle and New England go to the Super Bowl, it would be the 3rd time a head coach would face a team he formerly coached in the Super Bowl. Pete Carroll was the Patriots head coach from 1997-99. The other two were Dan Reeves who coached Atlanta against Denver in SB XXXIII, and Jon Gruden who coached Tampa Bay against Oakland in SB XXXVII.

-If the Patriots go to the Super Bowl, it would be their 8th time there, tying the Cowboys and Steelers for most SB appearances.

-If the 49ers go to the Super Bowl and lose, they would be the first team to lose consecutive Super Bowls since the Bills lost 4 straight after the '90-'93 seasons.

Just some fun useless football trivia on a Monday :)

Denvers' secondary will be depleted next week, I look to Brady to take advantage of this with more play action. If the running game is even half of what it was in the Colts game, Denver will be in serious trouble.

I wonder if Panthers fans are still upset about him stealing Newton's move?

The Titans have hired Ken Whisenhunt as their next head coach. I'm happy with that.
I would be too. He is a good coach. He took the Cardinals to the Super Bowl and was one of several plays away from winning it. I was kind of hoping he would end up in Cleveland next year, but after they snubbed him for Chudzinski last year I figured it was a long shot.

Apparently if the 49ers win the NFCCG they'll be the only team in the Super Bowl era to win road games on four consecutive weekends.

The Vikings hire Bengals DC Mike Zimmer as head coach. That leaves Cleveland as the only remaining vacancy.

Exactly, the Browns are the only game in town now. Rumor is they're holding out for Denver's OC, but they could also consider other options as well.

Adam Gase will be the Browns coach. Thats why they haven't pulled the trigger on anyone else, IMO. I'm sure they have spoken with Gase behind closed doors. Sigh. If this is indeed our next coach, I'm done. They don't want a coach, they want a puppet.

Lombardi and Banner are a damn cancer in that front office and need fired ASAP. THEY are the reason they can't get a good coach. Everyone around the league knows how they are. They won't give control to the coach. They want to pick the entire staff instead of letting the coach make up his own staff.

It's sad, because out of all the teams available this year for coaches, Cleveland is the team closest to becoming a contender. All we need is a decent coach and a capable QB. Hoyer proved we can win with a decent QB when we went 3-0 with him before his dumbass slide injury. We have one of the youngest teams in the league, 5 pro bowlers, more salary-cap room than all but one NFL team. We also have three of the top 35 picks in the draft and 5 of the top 83 picks. What coach wouldn't be salivating over that???

No, instead we will be stuck with a damn 1st year Offensive Coordinator, who had effing Peyton Manning on his team. Manning will make any OC look good. He calls most of the plays his own self! Did Denver even need an OC this year??? If Gase isn't the guy, it will be Quinn. Yet, another first year DC for Seattle. Just another puppet for Lombardi and Banner! You know your front office sucks when Josh McDaniels turns down his dream job.

Gase may be McDaniels 2.0 if they hire him. McDaniels looked great with Tom Brady, not so much with Kyle Orton.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say the wife of Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill left a rifle in the back of a rental SUV in South Florida earlier this month.

The Broward Sheriff's Office reported Wednesday that Lauren Tannehill rented a Nissan Rogue from EZ Rental Car at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport the afternoon of Jan. 4. She returned about two hours later to swap the Rogue for a different car, but authorities say she left behind an LMT AR-15, which was secured in a case.

That same night, the car was rented to another woman, who found the gun and contacted EZ Rental Car. Employees told her to turn it over to police, which she did.

No charges are expected to be filed.

A Dolphins spokesman says the Tannehills view this as a personal matter.
