NFL Fantasy league

Hey @ztevans, you still want Blake Bortles? The offer is officially on the table.

The idea of having Blake Bortles was only fun when it meant getting him cheap before you got him, so that I could trade him to YOU for way too much (like Antonio Brown). Now the intrigue is gone.

How's your QB situation?

You need Wilson or Bortles.

And your plan was never going to work out when I have Luck and Wilson.

IT IS TIME.

This weekend, the highly anticipated Battle Of The Undefeateds. 7-0 Evans' Almighties against 7-0 Blue Steele (@Jeffrey00). The game will be announced by @AndyMarquisLive. By announced, I mean he'll just randomly tweet throughout the week that I like Justin Bieber,

GET PUMPED.

Alright. Sorry I haven't done a thing since I first signed up for the league. However, I just made some roster moves and named my team. It's probably too late to make up after a 2-5 start, but I've been wanting to do this, I just kept forgetting to do anything until I was watching the Thursday night games and then it was too late for the week. Hopefully I can be better about this for the rest of the season.

That's more than most people do after a slow start. Even I have been guilty on bailing a time or two on leagues, and I have been playing long enough to know how annoying it can be.

I've never been in a league before. I thought the whole idea was pretty lame at first. Then I kinda wanted to, but I figured the people that were already doing it had a big leg up on me and I didn't want to play with a huge disadvantage. I like most of you guys, though. So when someone in here said they were starting a league this year I decided to give it a shot. I was looking forward to drafting my team, picking my starters, making trades,.and all that. But then, I got busy on Draft night and then other times I just kept forgetting to pick my starters every week.

In hindsight, going with defensive players was a massive challenge for the less-experienced people in this league. Probably would have been a more competitive league with a standard roster (QB, 2/3 WR, 2 RB, TE, K, D/ST). And if it were more competitive, this thread would have been much chattier, and that's what makes fantasy fun.

I've been playing fantasy football for 15+ years and never had played with defensive players. Been a learning experience for sure...

I was so proud of myself for a couple of the moves I made this week as I was watching the Browns game yesterday. The biggest thing I was happy about was picking up Browns WR Andrew Hawkins as a free agent and starting him against the Raiders. He had a big game and even scored his first touchdown of the season. Then, about midnight last night, I checked and saw that I had changed my mind and started an injured Calvin Johnson instead even though I knew that he wasn't going to play well, if he even played at all, even though reports said he was good to go for the game. :owquitit:

At this point I'm losing by like 3 points heading into tonight's game, but I have Tony Romo, Dez Bryant and one of the Washington receivers (I don't remember which one). My opponent has DeMarco Murray. I like my chances to make up the 3 points, but you never know.

It's a completely different animal. The most challenging part about an IDP league is tuning out the highlight reel white-noise and focus on the guys who will consistently put up numbers (see: tackles). Rare is the guy like J.J. Watt where his production in fantasy matches his real-football hype off the field because he's just a freak of nature.

I like it. I am not doing well this year, but I picked with my heart not my head. I am coming on though!
