And because of the chase rules Biffle still won't be in 1st place when the chase starts unless he gets more wins.
Old man France has to be rolling over in his grave, realizing what a sh!tbag he raised. And because of the chase rules Biffle still won't be in 1st place when the chase starts unless he gets more wins.
Well, you may as well move Hamlin up 7 spots now. Hamlin 57 points out of the lead in this series yet he'll be the top dog a week from today. That's a race + out of the lead. Only in NASCAR.
The Wild Card scenarios as I understand them. I did this without paper so allow for an error rate of plus or minus 40 points.
First of all p10 has not been clenched. Tony Stewart has an 18 point lead over Kahne, a 23 point lead over Kyle Busch and a 35 point lead over Gordon. But Kahne I think is the only one with a shot. Kyle would need to overtake or beat both Kahne by 6 points, and Stewart by 24 points.
If Tony finishes 13th or better he is in the top 10 regardless.
If Stewart and Kahne flip positions it should not effect the outcome of the last wild card spot.
For the last wild card position if Kyle Busch, Gordon, Ambrose, Newman, or Logano wins there almost guaranteed to make the chase. (If Busch or Gordon were to make it into the top 10, then Stewart and Kahne would most likely be the two wild cards, but this is only a mathematical possibility. It is almost guaranteed not to happen, but in a unreal scenario Kahne hasn't clenched the last wildcard, Stewart has clinched a WC ).
If none of those five win the last wild card position will go to Busch or Gordon.
(Mathematically Ambrose could catch Busch and Gordon, but it almost impossible).
Pretty much covers it!
Carl Edwards has a remote possibility. First of all he absolutely must win. In addition to this he has to make up 26 points on Kyle, and and 14 positions on Gordon. (I am unsure of who has tie breaking advantages) If either Kyle finishes in the top 21, or Gordon in the top 9 he is eliminated even with a win.
I wonder if he meant when he's running for cheeseburgers...'cause women and small children need to look out for that as well.
Anyway...
Um...you posted results, not point standings.
#55 scored 703 points with those guys behind the wheel. Had it been any one of them scoring that total they'd still be way out of 10th position. Who knows what could have been.I wonder if Martins/Vickers/Waltrip 55 car would have made the top 10 on points with a single driver. No wins, rules out a wild card.
Where are all of the posters who cried that winning wasn't given enough importance ? They will surely be coming out to disagree with you.![]()
Suck it up Flash. There's no crying in NASCAR!I'd carry on about it a bit but my driver went from SECOND in the points to SEVENTH in the points due to the way the current Chase points format is laid out........Sucks for me![]()
