Pocono Cup Thread

As for the pit road speeding penalties, it's a well known fact that drivers push the limit and speed in between scoring loops. I doubt this is NASCAR's fault. Drivers push the limit, and there's nothing wrong with that because that's what their job is. Remember, NASCAR gives the drivers a 5 mph window of tolerance.

Totally my opinion, but drivers know track position is important at Pocono and are pushing the limit as much as they can and they're just getting caught today.

If track position is all that important, why would they push the limit knowing that they are going to give up track position?

#JeffGordon - "Well #18 just laid oil down through the tunnel....and now in Turn 3." @EddieDHondt - "We'll let them know." #NASCAR #Team24

I think NASCAR telling teams where the scoring loops are is dumb. It's like the police telling everyone where their speed traps are on the main highway.

Speeding on pit road is speeding. Don't encourage it by telling them where they'll get caught if they do speed on pit road. Isn't this a safety rule?

Jim Utter @jim_utter 4m
WINNER RT @joffutt1: @jim_utter so the drivers are trying to cheat the lines and since they moved they're getting caught, correct?

I haven't said this all year and I most likely will never say it again but I am rooting for the number 51.

Ohhhh Yeah...

Utter's an ass but he's correct. Many of the drivers speed up 5-10 mph over the speed limit between the loops since NASCAR tells them where they are. ESPN caught Jimmie Johnson passing 2-3 cars one time on pit road. I don't think NASCAR should tell the teams where the loops are. Just mark the entrance and exit on pit road. They're pretty much telling the drivers and teams, "okay, this is the rule but here's where you can break the rule". bull****.

It has to be free info because if 1 or 2 teams found out it would be an unfair advantage and money talks if you are an underpaid track worker.

I like utter, just for the fact how he talks **** on Fox's broadcast. He hates DW and MW. So funny!

They need to remember the speed limit deal is for saftey. I saw a guy named Mike Rich (correct me if I'm wrong) get killed at Atlanta about 22 years ago.

NASCAR could put someone on pit road somewhere with radar and have him move around. I mean, if someone speeds on pit road and gets away with it, it's one thing. NASCAR telling everyone where they're allowed to speed is bull****.

Jr, Gordon and Smoke all in the top ten right now. What a great race.

And if this happened about two hundred black helicopters would instantly appear.

I just learned from the McDonalds commercial if you have Chicken McNuggetts, you have all the man a woman needs.

Just walk up and sez, "Hey Babe I got your super sized McNuggetts and the sauce"!

It's a sure thing.

But it is only 5 extra mph!

On top of 55 mph, which can be fatal if you're hit at that speed (read your local paper, happens all the time). Plus, the fact that teams are quite literally told by NASCAR where they can speed. 55+5=60 and then you can probably gas up to 10mph more in between the loops... that's 70 mph.

Speaking of pit road safety and I know this is off topic. I'm amazed crew members in Indy car aren't hurt or killed. They are just sitting there on there knees when the cars come in.
