Random NASCAR Stuff to talk about.....

For some reason Jimmie Johnson's video game will be the sponsor of Dave Blaney this weekend.

I have liked this place for years (regardless of my profile) because the little spitzers dont stay around long and thereis a lot of funny shee er stuff on here.

All RFR cars are brand new. JR is using his Vegas car. Harvick is in a Vegas car. Menard in a new car. Brad in a new car. Tony is in a car with some history.

From jayski:

#48-Jimmie Johnson: Chassis No. 714 is a new chassis and serves as the primary for Johnson at Texas. Chassis No. 669 serves as the backup and last ran at Las Vegas in March and finished 2nd.

When you have a 2nd place car as a backup, what does that say about the new car?

According to my guide, practice will be shown live on Speed beginning at 5:30 EDT. This is confirmed on Speed's website.

That's what I'm getting as well.

The session is from 4:30 - 6:30, local track time.

Mine is showing up now so my guide must not have been updated at the time. I didn't think Speed would miss anything with cup cars on track lol

You scared the crap out of my though. I double checked my guide and went to Speed's website right away! lol

Tweet from Jeff Gordon's spotter:
@EddieDHondt: 24 Dupont car is v good in race trim. Made 2 qualifying runs at the very end of pract. We gotta work a lil more there, but car is fast.

It's ironic that on a day when we finally have racing to discuss, the board goes virtually silent.

It would be great if everyone who posts here was on the Bone Marrow Donor Registry (Be the Match). The odds of being called upon to donate are very long but I would imagine it feel great if your marrow was used to save someone's life. :)

Too many wrecked race cars, apparently, but Finch is adamant that Busch is doing his job. Looks like it may be a part-time job if they don't get better results starting at Kansas.

They are just 22 points out of 20th, but they need to get a win or 2 to make the chase. The team just isn't performing well enough to get it done. Kurt's in a bit of a bind. He needs to stick it out with the team to change his image. I'm a little surprised he hasn't been on more of the shows to show people where his head is at. The Busch brothers have been invisable this year.

Finch is saying that if they don't pick it up, they wont be running all the remaining races but at this point it looks like winning a couple of races is their best shot at making the chase anyway.

I always thought that was their only chance, but the team just isn't getting it done. The good news is that Kurt is learning it's not just HMS cars that gets wins, it's the TEAM behind the cars. Appreciate them or perish.

Question for you...assuming Kurt got his anger under control , has some respectable finishes for Finch this year , and rehabilitated his image ......what do you think he could do in the 42 car next year ? Would he be a chase contender ?
