Random NASCAR Stuff to talk about.....

These aint Nascar babes, but they are Grid Girls in Europe and their working in harsh weather. They deserve the respect imho

I love this board, I learn something new everyday... ;)

I respect him for what he has accomplished. He can be a real postive.

But I think if he really wants a Nascar career, it will be with a lot less stunts , it has got to be more than just a new thing. You just dont jump into this level and perform well that easily.
If he thinks differently, I would think he is being unrealistic.
Again , as I said in another thread , there are very few people who are in the top level who go here on driving ability alone . Most had a family connection or a sponsor connection to help them break in. I'm good with Travis and I have a 12yr old grandson who loves the man. If Travis can learn to drive a race car , he will bring a huge number of young fans to the sport. That can only be good for the sport.

Even of those new, young fans complain about Nascar and want changes made to suit them?

The ADD generation you mean? Humpy Wheeler addressed the issue of long races on Wind Tunnel last Sunday. It was pretty interesting coming from him. And Larry Mac was all for shortening some races like doing 400 miles instead of 500 at Pocono and Fontucky. The Michigan Race is also now 400 miles, which I think is ok, even though the 500 mile races are a better test of endurance for engines, drivers and crews.

I think it's safe to assume that the younger, newer fan may expect something different than we all did when we became Nascar fans. I don't think we can have it both ways and tell people that we want their attention but only under our rules. They'll go find entertainment some other place.

No way in hell am I going to pay full price and go through all of the hassle involved in going a NASCAR Cup event just to go see a 90 minute race. Eff that.

Why should he have to show cup guys respect? They are coming to HIS series to race.

Exactly, when the cup guys go down to the Nationwide or Trucks they better not just think they will get respect, they are coming down to take wins from them and they are going to do exactly what it takes to win, don't like it take your ball and go home.

I agree but I doubt that it would go that far. I'd like to see two shorter races on the same day. Maybe 200 miles each with a one-hour break between races. That might be cool!

Agreed. But that doesn't mean that the CUP drivers deserve to be dis-respected either. There are quite a few fans who go to N'wide or Truck races because Pee Wee or Joonyer or Kasey are entered. It benefits everybody in the series when there are more butts in more seats.

Heh , you gotta put younger butts in the seats in every sports arena . The older butts are dyin off .Besides , the young people are the ones with the money.

NASCAR just needs more options. I went to Winchester, IN yesterday, spent $25 and watched four hours of excellent racing including mods, super mods and Xtreme sprints. The super mods were turning 14.2's and the sprints (three of them) had sub 14 second laps. A 13.2 took the pole.

I spent less than $50 total and had a great time.

Winchester is the "worlds fastest half mile."

Could you imagine geting to MIS on a Sunday and watching four hours of racing that included ARCA, CWTS, Nationwide and cup?

Been a BowTie man all my life, and back when it meant more I hated them Fords. But Chevy is going have to do some great stuff with the 2013 car to build a piece that looks that good.

It is has that look and the classic Woods scheme helps too.

I completely agree but these new fans are going have different expectations and Nascar will have to adapt to satiate them.

They do have a great looking car, but don't worry that Chevrolet SS will look great when we get a final look at it .....in Gatorade Victory Lane too

That FORD looks great!
But I think that they are gonna have to shorten the side skirts a little! lol

If a Ford can actually look halfway decent I can't wait to see how great that new Chevy SS is going to look.:D

I think you are right, that sure is fur... :D

I am betting them are mostly Brazilian European Babes. I also read recently that Brazil had recently moved up to being the 5th biggest economy. I am thinking the Brazilian culture tech is a hugh factor in their recent sucess.

Consequently I thinking Bobbys Fer was as accurate as Fur.

Evidently we had no dumb bone head drivers this week, intersting point for an All Star race week.

For you other couple Jr. fans on this board.....

@SteveLetarte: Zero damage on all star car. We are gonna bring that one back for 600.

Just finished my NASCAR Fan Council survey from last weekends All Star Race. I passed along everyone's desire to keep everything exactly the same for next year. Especially Andy's idea to keep the race in Charlotte. ;)

Anyhow, I was just curious how many other members of this forum are members of the NASCAR Fan Council?

I am! And I returned my survey with similar opinions! lol

The 2013 Camry for Sprint Cup will have a new front grille to match production model, side character lines & an updated rear bumper.

Ford also has the benefit of taking styling cues directly from the Aston Martin DB. That can't hurt.

I can't wait to see all of these new body styles on the track. You'd think that they would have scheduled some race with the new equipment before hitting the track next Feb in Daytona. Kinda like they did when they brought in the COT.
