Random NASCAR Stuff to talk about.....

I can't read the link as I don't subscribe.

I wonder if Brian will show up?
Not a whole to it. Wonder if they'll come up with the next great enhancement...

NASCAR today is holding an inaugural summit for top leaders across the sport’s various stakeholder groups to discuss the state of the industry. NASCAR Chair & CEO Brian France publicly revealed its existence in a press conference earlier this month, but not much has come out about the closed-door event since then. However, NASCAR COO Brent Dewar in a statement to THE DAILY said, “It will be comprised of a mix of guest speakers and panels designed to foster additional collaboration and help continue to drive the sport forward.” Sources said attendance is being kept to more high-level execs in the sport.

Also today, NASCAR is also holding its quarterly Fuel for Business council meeting in Charlotte ahead of this weekend’s Monster Energy NASCAR All-Star Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Monster Energy VP/Sports Marketing Mitch Covington will speak at the event.

Over a hundred ‘n sixty wins in eight championships twix ‘em.

Ehh, not really a rumor with any facts to back it up. Just speculation from outsiders like me.

It wouldn't surprise me if they cut back simply due to the current state of the company, but it sounds like they are at least sticking around to a certain degree with the 48 which is awesome to hear.

Hard to say if any recent sponsor has gotten more bang for the buck than Lowe's has for sponsoring the #48. If they cut back on sponsorship, how could the CEOs of many other sponsors justify the marketing dollars spent on NASCAR with no where near the success that Jimmie has had. Not to mention he's one of the most wholesome drivers that exists in the sport.

If you want to have a good shot at predicting a sponsor change/cutback etc. Pay attention to when the company makes a C.E.O. change.

The community of racers stands together. Thanks to Dale Jr for getting those Nicky Haydan 69 stickers on all the Hendrick cars this weekend. (BTW, there is no news today on Nicky... condition unchanged, still very critical, following that auto/bicycle accident in Italy.)

Actually, I'm not really overweight now, though I've still got a belly.

My first year of college (a year after my 8th post), I gained a bunch of weight.

I've lost 20 pounds in the past year by eating less and exercising, and I've grown a little taller since my first year of college.

"TV ratings are soaring. Corporate money is flowing. And the crowds just keep getting bigger. How NASCAR is racing ahead."

I thought this article might be an interesting read for some as it showed how bullish and ebullient the buzz was around Nascar back in 2005. Regardless of how we feel about Brian France or some of the changes that have taken place it is sad that series has gone from good vibes to how things are at present.

On this day 13 years ago, Martin Truex wins the last race at Nazareth

Also, Happy 45th and 54th birthdays to Rubens Barrichello and Wally Dallenbach Jr

67 one ton Chevy. Knowing Jr it has probably been gone thru except the patina on the outside.
Who knows what is under the hood. I did notice he got his logo blended on the door. I wouldn't have done that myself.

Hey everybody. I'm new here and I'm not sure where to post my pic of a NASCAR plaque I've come across. It is from the 1993 Winston All-Star Race. It has all the drivers pictures and their signatures. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to find out more about it. I tried uploading the picture but there is a problem. It is only 2.2 megabytes.

Well I guess I will still go buy the only paper I buy the whole year tomorrow.
The USA Today the Friday before Memorial Day Weekend. Been doing it since the mid 80's -
for one thing and one thing only - the racing section previewing the 3 big races.
It continues to get thinner and thinner every year but I still go get it.

Things Brian France dreams about.....

Game #7 Double Overtime Victories.

Unfortunately, in Nascar, those moments have to be manufactured in order to guarantee some sort of excitement. How sweet they are when they happen naturally like last nights Pens Ottawa matchup.

Sweet dreams Brian.

That game wore me out. And I'm not a big hockey fan. LOL

Well then he should fix GWC so overtime is back like it used to be.

Larson loses the lead and that is flipping lame.
