Random NASCAR Stuff to talk about.....

I've certainly said negative things about Gossage, but he was a hell of a promoter and knows how to market to generate hype.

The track is a mess, but it is salvageable. Hopefully, whomever is the next in line can get it back in line. Especially for IndyCar's sake, but I respect Eddie fully and wish him the best in the future. Also, the landscape is changing a bit in American motorsports and slowly eeking away from the intermediate boom of the mid 90s into the early 00s.

Maybe the track can be salvaged in its current form or maybe it can be configured into something different? We'll see in the future.

I look at it a bit differently than the half empty bunch. Texas has three Nascar dates this year, all of them have the Smith's involved as owners or lessees of the track. Somebody show me the decline. Add in three Xfinity races and two truck races besides.

I understand there’s a career field called ‘fluffer'. That sounds similar to Twitter, so maybe there’s some overlap in the skill set?

Probably bad news for IndyCar there, especially if he’s replaced by some milquetoast bean counter. Regardless of what’s happened to the track he was always passionate and engaged and it’s rarely good to lose a race fan as a track president.

With the benefit of hindsight the track probably would’ve been better off just aging and coming into its own eventually, hopefully that still happens over time.

This would come out of the money the state is being given through the American Rescue Plan, and the state legislature would still have to approve it. If it all works out, it could be the best news that Rockingham or North Wilkesboro has had in a very long time.

More details:

Sooo, they take the US TAX payer dollars and speed it on a freaking race track, dumb as a box of rocks and totally unethical. JMO

I completely agree with your perspective there. The federal government needs to be focused on the debt instead. But since they have already given the money to the states with certain stipulations, it seems to me (as a longtime fan of Rockingham and North Wilkesboro) that this is a good way to use it.

Hendric/Petty tied for overall wins
As in, Petty Enterprises Wins or Petty as a Driver wins?

Hendick's stable of drivers maybe, but not Hendick himself.

If it is Petty's 200 wins compared to Hendricks wins as a team owner of multiple cars and drivers, then it is a lot of ado about nothing, apples and oranges.

Its Petty vs Hendrick total wins as owners

These message guns are really cool, especially for post-workout recovery.

Looks like I have two options to choose from now. Especially for my lower back and the thigh area, these seriously come in clutch.
Quoted for the truth!

We picked up an early version almost two decades ago. I think we used it twice in the first few months. We recently donated it to Goodwill.

Hendrick has something figured out. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a team this dominant. They’re literally at Mercedes F1 level right now
