Ranking the 11 Most Intelligent Drivers in NASCAR Today

From what I got out of the article it isn't really about intelligence but rather business sense. The smartest guy in the world can't necessarily run a successful business, a guy that barely graduated high school could become a millionaire due to his business sense. If the article title was "NASCAR drivers with the best business sense" I'd agree with the ratings for the most part.

Sr, from humble beginnings he became a 7 time champion and a successful business man who built a racing empire.
I have to wonder where DEI would be today.

I can't see that it really matters which driver is more intelligent. Besides, there are myriad ways to
rate intellect --- genius in one discipline, moron in another.

Before all the hate...he's my favorite wheelman but even I believe he needs to grow up a bit more. Then he can start racking up Championships.

For their intellect? .

First, obviously, is driving talent. While I'm sure I'll get a few complaints about at least one driver on this list, remember that I'm talking about the overall package of the person.

Second is something that at times is more important than sheer driving talent—and that's brain power. Every one of the drivers on this list was chosen for how they combine performance with cerebral ability.

Third is off-track acumen, particularly in business or in promotion of one's self.

You might question some of those traits first, but once you read each driver's synopsis, I think you'll realize why each of the 11 selected made this list.

I'd imagine one of the top performers in NASCAR with multiple championships. Its sad to see DEI as nothing more than a museum of what used to be...

I'm not even sure it's a museum any more. Had a friend by there just before the 600 --- she said there were no cars in the parking lot and nothing seemed to be going on.

Wow, that's even worse. I didn't know that, last time I was in Charlotte was to visit the HOF, if I knew it would be closed, we'd have been sure to make time to stop by DEI.

A higher IQ is not going to equate to wins/championships.
This is an opinion piece. Opinions are like...
I really don't think any of this matters in the real racing world.

Wasn't the Garage Mahal up for sale at one point and the Wicked Witch of Kannapolis nixed the deal, not enough $ ?

Within 5 years, Brad should be closing in on his 40th win. I would say that's top three but your opinion is certainly as valid as mine. Time will tell and that's the fun part.
There are five other current drivers with more wins than Brad.
This isn't about projecting.

As far as sheer education, I don't know how many have college degrees. But I believe Ryan Newman has a degree in engineering from Purdue, and he's not even on the list. Bogus list and stupid article IMHO.
Ryan has the sheepskin but not many would put him in the top three, five or ten, for that matter.

Is that true? Ryan, as a fellow Boilermaker of Neil's, doesn't believe that Armstrong walked on the moon?!
Have a buddy that is an everything is a conspiracy nut. Never went to the moon, latest is North Korea has never launched a missile. All fake. He's a great guy but...:flushed:

Danica Patrick should be number one. Probably top five in earnings last 5 years with no discernible talent except for how good she looks in a bikini. But some like em to look like Beyonce with huge thighs and butt...takes all kinds.:partytime

My brother is that way. While he believes the moon landings are real (the Russians would've called us out if they weren't), he thinks the Illuminati controls everything :idunno::idunno::idunno:.

I have no problem with most sizes and shades of color.

After the last 600 we went to the HOF and the HMS museum on Monday. On Tuesday we went to all of the Team shops within 40 miles. When we went by DEI no one was there. I just found out why.

There's better info here.

Most intellectual drivers how?

There are many ways to describe intellect for a NASCAR driver. Kurt Busch is probably one of the best of breaking down his car in terms of giving feedback to his CC, Keselowski is fantastic with throttle management and hitting his numbers for fuel saving, his CC Wolfe is great at hitting his numbers. Just as examples

Drivers on "Raw" talent - In no order:
Kyle Busch
Kurt Busch
Joey Logano
Kevin Harvick
Brad Keselowski
Kyle Larson
Jaime Mcmurray
Jimmie Johnson...

I mean this could go on forever.

I'm obviously not a Brad fan.

Obviously but facts are facts winning percentages are facts opinions are opinions. Sometimes people just need to have an unbiased opinion about some things like pure driver Talent seriously Kyle Busch is obviously one of if not the best drivers in the series I obviously feel the exact same way about Kyle as you feel about brad but does that change the reality of the fact that he is an amazing driver no
