I've driven about 10 miles of this thing from Baxter Springs, KS to Joplin, MO. According to the Internet, only 2,438 miles left to explore!
Clutch, how long are you stateside? If you'll be in the I-40 corridor area of Texas/Colorado at the end of September/start of October, you might be able to catch Rocky Mountain Race Week traffic.
We did Rocky Mountain Race Week on the OLD section of Route66 between Tulsa and Oklahoma City the last 2 years. You wont be able to take an RV on it due to weight zoned bridges, but you can stop near and walk or bike it from NEW Route66.
Just a warning: Many roads in Arkansas and Oklahoma are...lets just say that some are un-deserving of being called interstates or highways.
Be sure to stop and look at the big transformers in Stillwater Oklahoma, about 20 miles north of old 66 west of Tulsa.

Just rode e bikes around town today then dinner and show at Wicker Park which is more to the west. Really enjoy it here.

Ok..... Busy day today.
Last night was such bad reception I couldn't post. Drive as far as Ottawa.... ish Illinois and spent the night at pack campground around a fire pit. A Place called Pleasant Valley campground.
Very enjoyable.

That red dash and complete instrument panel is absolutely beautiful.
The view from the top of the arch is fantastic. And the little train you ride is fun--- if you're not claustrophobic.
