Second Las Vegas Cup race

I really don't see why Loudon would have an issue getting a night race. It isn't really located near anything so it's not like anything would be disturbed.
According to SMI, Bob Bahre agreed with local authorities that the track would not install lights, and these authorities are unwilling to change the agreement. Marcus Smith said that yesterday. Music festivals are also prohibited. There is a history of rowdy behavior at the track, so maybe that is behind the local attitudes.

I just realize another downside to Vegas getting a second race. Now, in addition to Fox doing it, we'll also have to listen to NBC make bad gambling comparisons throughout the broadcast.
At least we won't have to hear Jeff Burton talk about how he once led all 300 laps at New Hampshire twice every year.

28 years and probably $15,000 of my money went to Loudon's economy. Many camping memories, races and general shenenigans were had there. We had planned for Charlotte.again next Fall, but Martinsville may win that debate now..But,if NASCAR puts mufflers on the cars......

... then they'd be muffled at all Loudon races, whether that's 1, 2, or, 20.

I'm having a hard time believing a reduction in the level of car engine sound would cause someone to stop going to the track. Is no reduction acceptable? 5 decibels? Is it specifically muffling, or are all sound-reducing technologies equally offensive?

Um...what ? I've been going every September, because its just too hot in July. So..... no more Sept. after next year, because, you know, NASCAR. And the muffler thing, that was just jocularity .

I understand about too hot in July. (Well, being from South Carolina, I don't actually 'understand' too hot in July in NEW HAMPSHIRE , but I'm with you regarding July vs. September.) (And it's frickin' SNOWING as I type this, but it's too warm any accumulation.) When Darlington had two dates, I always attended the spring race but rarely Labor Day. But since it's now the only weekend left, I put up with the temperature to see great racing at the closest track.

To each his own.

I am a huge Raiders fan. If/when they move to Vegas, I hope they do some type of Saturday night race/Sunday game ticket combo. That'd be awesome.

I am just now watching this and I'm amazed at the mountain of empty seats in the big grandstands. So much for Vegas having great attendance. Never has attendance at this track been this terrible.
