Storage building

Previous phone wasn't unlimited plan but figured 20 bucks more was a bargain. Adding 3 gig data was 20 bucks on old plan. This phone is probably 1.5 inches taller/longer so plenty of room. Old phone was definitely having an aneurysm. This one is smoking fast when I have signal.

If you are in no contract plan, try Mint Mobile. They charge $15.00 per month, pre-paid, and what to me is a lot of data but the price is right even if you use more than allowed. They use T-Mobile network and i've heard nothing but good things about them plus, you can use your own phone and transfer the number. Might be worth it to take a look. Looking at the map of T-Mobile it loos like they cover as large if not larger area than Verizon and definitely AT&T.

New phone is locked to Verizon for 60 days. Then I'll try some others. Sitting in recliner and have to keep phone in right hand to maintain connection. No signal at all 15 feet away in bedroom. Was in Raleigh today. At intersection of Buffalo Road and New Hope road 5 bars signal. 100 yards later on Buffalo Rd...no signal. None. Phone says offline for 5 miles. Insane. Fairly major city. We have become so spoiled it's sad though. Absolutely MUST be connected to internetz at all time. I was hoping the Covid shot would help my cell connection but no dice.

I had just paid for another month if Verizon. Autopay. If it hadn't just debited I probably would have changed provider. The old phone was definitely about to spin a bearing. Or had wrong pushrod?😃

I use Boost for my 4G hotspot at races. Sprint network, $50 for 50GB, no contract. I dont use it in winter, I dont pay for it.

Spectrum showed up AT MY DOOR with a pandemic related offer of FREE INTERNET for at least 6 months or until "pandemic is over". I'm gonna wait to hear what AT&T offers. Little bit tired of dealing with Spectrum. Started to post this comment but had to hold phone up to window for couple minutes to get back online. Pathetic. But that's on Verizon.

Downtown Wendell next to Chevy dealership.

how far out in the boondocks are you? I'm curious what the provider-estimated coverage maps look like

On my side of Raleigh we next have Knightdale, then Wendell & Zebulon. Outside of that is the boondocks. I'm maybe 2 miles from Rt 64/495 that runs up to Virginia. It's insane that Verizon can't cover this area better.

Worked on rafters today. Ran out of back after couple hours. But I also walked 1.5 miles first. Might get it dried in tomorrow?😉 Need to fix my come-a-long so can square things up as needed. Ripped the pulley off the cable years ago. Probably just go to tractor supply and get something. Need a roll of carpenters string anyway. Hate to use chalk line for stringing. But could.

Walked to Hardee's & back this morning. About 1/2 mile each way. Going to remove the tumor hanging on end of porch. it's just a catch=all. Will allow me to put a 2x6 on end of porch which will make stringing rafters a ton easier. Am going to leave about a foot of overhang. Bought some hurricane straps to attach rafters on outer end. I'll attach pictures.

Had to go outside to upload pictures. Pathetic. Either I remove the tumor or have to scan on end of rafter plus that old rafter is too low.

This picture shows it's 1.5 low. I'm raising sheeting position by 1.5" so roofing material lays flat. Not as much deformation. Have one 12 door rafter that makes it look wonky. Once tumor is removed and that end is finalized, will string and take rafters down and cut ends. Then it's some assembly time. Gotta wait a few hours. Prime sun angle now for getting burnt.

The tumor has three legs under it. Was sitting on 2x4's which long ago rotted away. It has pulled the 3 outboard porch posts over/downhill. I tried jacking it up but it's just a bad design. Sandy soil tends to make buildings fall down, huh Florida? Main thing is the rafter that's trapped by it. Really don't want to have to figure out the angle on a wedge to make it taller AND longer. Sun will be down enough in about an hour.

Found out one thing about new phone...no need to worry about abusing the hotspot function. Too slow to use. I still believe they are throttling my account. Used to be able to watch NetFlix on 55" TV via hotspot. I'll call the Spectrum guy Monday about the free internet deal. Said he can give me 400 download for 25 month. That would work. The free deal is 50 meg download I believe. We always want more power than we need, right?

Oh...the irony...all the effort and money spent on air compressor and nail guns and I'm not gonna use them. Well not much if any. Tried one if the guns and couldn't figure out how to not get double shot. One nail sunk other sticking out 1/2". Little afraid of getting hurt with it. I needed the compressor either way.

Trying to figure out how to excise the tumor without knocking a hole in the side of the trailer. Punted for today. The humidity is already a killer here. But at least it's not 113 degrees.

Data plan probably goes by your account, regardless of device. Phone number = phone number.

Are you not in range of a WISP? Does the facility you live at not have a contracted provider?

Changed from 8 gig data plan that you could add data to as needed to unlimited data plan. But Unlimited doesn't mean they can't sloooow it down. I just don't have to add data now. Trailer park offers no amenities except water & trash pickup. I'll get Internet in next couple weeks. Spectrum account was due to raise it's price in July. So...shut it down for a month and oh look! NEW CUSTOMER! It's a dumb business model.

The loop I walk. Unfortunately takes me right past Hardee's. Can't lose weight eating biscuits and gravy.

I'd like to have a Verizon engineer come and visit. We could walk around the block so he/she/they/him/them/her/it can see...poor ducking signal!😉

My hip flexors say "I'm not doing ****, dude"...so here's I sit. I'll spend the hot part of day stretching then recip saw the crap out of the tumor this evening.
I can totally sympathize about the hips. My piriformis occasionally will tighten/spasm and send the pain right down the leg.

The header into the trash bin didn't help any. Was cussing like mad but by the time I got to the shower was laughing. It was a Funniest Video moment. I'm fine just 18 months of sitting rust to scrub off.

Progress! It sounded like they were starting the cars for the Indy 500!

Lots of buzzers flying around. Guess I need to go to store and get some napalm. Next have to do some cross bracing as she's JUST a little wobbly. But it did magically level up the outboard posts by removing that thing.

Have to cut-up the tumor and get it on the trailer. Need access to that end of the porch to remove the nails that were holding the end rafter. They had it toenailed from about 8 directions. On some others I gave up pulling them and used a cut-off wheel. One last rafter to cut then it's some assembly required. Still haven't decided whether going to use OSB or T1-11 I have. I'll throw one of each up on top and see which one I like best. Probably use the T1-11 as it's new. The OSB looks like couple sheets have been exposed to some weather. Need the best surface for the peel & stick roofing to stick.

Took more than a minute to load first picture. Pathetic. Appears guy that showed up about Free Spectrum Internet was a scammer. Tried to call him, number can't be completed as dialed. Found on their website they do have a pandemic plan with reduced rates. But only 30Megs. I'll wait until middle of month and get Spectrum 75 buck deal.

The Tumor has been irradiated. Have to fix come-a-long so can pull center post toward trailer. I want it to look square and straight. Need to swap rafters around to get best fit. Of course las t

Phone locked up? Last 2x6 looked like a drill bit. Twisted almost 1/2" over length. May flip face board over as looks warped... it's not screwed in yet.

Of course now realize I did this all inside-out & backwards. Should have cut 2 identical rafters for outer ends, put them up and attached face board. Then cut rest of the rafters all identical. Did I mention how bad I am at this stuff?😉 Taking a break for afternoon. Will start again after 4:30.

Found something to fix it with. Old hinge. More than double the thickness of broken part. Was junk.
